"Impressed on first visit.. A friend and I, along with my 5 month old baby, just enjoyed a tasty lunch. Our first time at Cafe Tartine and I will definitely be back. The decor, staff and food all get top marks from me. I had a chicken breast burger (not the most French dish on menu but what I fancied) and it was delicious. My friend really enjoyed her veggie burger too. We had a coffee afterwards, best coffee I've had in ages, but will make the crepes a must have next time. We chose to sit in the light bright conservatory which provided ample space for my pushchair and a nice comfy sofa to prop child up on while we munched away. The baby changing facilities were spot on and included a unit...read more"

Absolutely love this place! Went there for breakfast and was really good. Decor is brilliant, service chilled and the food is good. You don't need more. I really like the selection of crepes! Awesome. Can't wait to go back!

Perfect combination of food, wine and fantastic live music.... Had a great evening here with Moules, Frites and great wine...and great music. They had a live singer and piano...both brilliant, old swing jazz stuff, classics. Best night for a long time.

if they like French and rustic decor, they will definitely love cafe tartine. I love how big it is so that you don't usually fight to find a table. great location on the back and when they sit on the back, they get a nice view. I was often for coffee and wifi and always felt relaxed. the staff is very friendly and they never rush you. must come back to taste their crepe!

Gorgeous location for this charming french cafe in The Shore, Leith. We wanted to go to the Roseleaf but it was full so, instead, we gave Cafe Tartine a chance and loved it. Coffee was delicious, and so was the orange juice. We shared a lovely cured meats and french cheeses board, and a savoury crepe. Loved every bit of it. If you can, make sure you are seated in the conservatory, especially on a sunny day. This cafe is dog friendly and it was nice to see quite a few four-legged creatures behaving very well there. absolutely love this French cafe/restaurant. first, the menu is consistently good, whether they go for a crepe or something like pulled booze. the specificities are actually especially often with innovative taste combinations. it is also dog friendly at the back and opens early at the weekend so makes the perfect breakfast / brunch spot with her dog. the personal is nice and striving to fix mistakes - a missed or late order has once or twice led to these items being taken out of the bill. something that all restaurants should do if they want to custom again.

I put on a best/worse date competition via @edinburghblogg (find and follow us) so the team at Zomato gave me £30 vouchers for cafe Tartine! Hard work pays off in food I believe the reason I'm such foodie is down to my big sister for taking me for dinner when I was younger! So else but big sister to enjoy the voucher with. I got the sea-bass and Husna got the Salmon. The seabass wasn't my cuppa but Husna loved it I preferred her Salmon dish as the roast potatoes were so good! Now about the best part... I ordered the crepe banoffee and my sister Tart fine aux pommes, the wait did say 20 cook time for the Tart fine aux Pommes and said customer say it's worth it....but can I say...read more

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
