"our favorite place in st albans! we've been coming to cafe alfresco for about 5 years and it's absolutely fantastic any meal we had was great and the owners are so beautiful. we went to lunch today and were inflamed to find out that they have a beautiful garden from the back, which is an absolute sunfall and it was so peaceful. we went with our two young children and the waitress was so kind to them and gave them a cuddly toy, each that they did not go all afternoon and the choice of sweetness when we left. simply the best service in st albans! look forward to many more lunches in the future."

I opted to visit here because a nearby cafe changed its opening hours without warning. Upon arrival at 9:30 on Sunday 2 June, the cafe was busy and popular. Our cooked breakfasts, toast and coffees were brought quickly and our bill at £12.10 was excellent...value

Stopped here on the way walking from the station to city centre as they had outside seating on a lovely morning, and I'm so glad I did. I had the Sunrise breakfast and everything was cooked very well and the service was quick and efficient....I will certainly return.

Food great, service great, friendly..but intolerably hot in the summer. It has air con, but it has never been used in the years I have been going. Relatively useless fans are plugged in when the fancy takes, but is by no means policy. Could be...so much more comfortable during what are becoming regular heatwaves.

so we went to the brunch of the place looks tired, not cheap to the breakfast, so expects a reasonable meal. do not understand how these places survive the owners have clearly lost interest quality the ingredients were shocking cheap and evil not good quality, not even reasonable quality. will not return in the future would not recommend.

We ate lunch at Cafe Alfresco while we were visiting St Alban's in early July. It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision as we were hungry and the cafe caught our eye. The food was wonderful! Very large portions and great...service. The lasagne was beautiful. Very well priced as well, on par with an average cafe lunch here in Australia.

that's a real caffe. an unpretentious real lobster! well distributed tables, an extensive menu to very cheap trips and fantastic service. on the way from the railway station in the direction city center so well positioned. this is a great place to eat breakfast or just a snack or main meal at lunch or evening. It is from traditional English to some Middle Eastern/Turkish options.

We happened upon this cafe walking from the station and becoming more hungry with every step as our train was late. Breakfast/ brunch was what we were looking for and we found everything we could have wished for in this delightful place. Great food great...atmosphere great coffee and service with a smile. Very good value. Wish we could visit often but we were just down for the weekend. A most memorable meal. Thank you.

Cafe Alfresco is a cosy and smart cafe on Victoria street between the station and the city centre. It serves food throughout the day and is usually busy. We visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were very pleased with the experience. There is...a wide breakfast menu to choose from. We had the Old English breakfast which comes with very good bubble and squeak, and the vegetarian breakfast which was also very good with good quality ingredients well cooked. Breakfasts come with toast and tea or coffee and range from £6 to £8. Staff are friendly and efficient

"Yammin-Yummy says. ... 5 stars ... also a rarely awarded- 'beezybonus'. . . now, where do I begin to begin with such an amazingly appealing selection of freshly prepared foods that one would naturally expect that, already cooked, sitting, waiting for the next hungry expected customers. this can sometimes cook up to 10-20-50mins before they are placed in front of them. not here. freshly cooked. now this beautiful example of a traditional 'fish chip love affair, established over generations of Friday nights, was beautifully designed to tell their mouth, tonge taste panties, please attach their belts, and then it is about them an incredible arbor ride. ... one who seems to go up just as once they decided what's going in their mouth first (at least the crispy tail end) begins their incredible journey up; as their eyebrows increase during thinking, omg that 's sooo different good, light, crispy teig as I've never tasted in my 37 years since the beginning in the food industry. And then I made the mistake of dipping my squid in the homemade tartaric acid sauce. that is when the 1st massive fear happened, as I thought, oh my days; the better then mean, re-entry, deeper, actually cure my wrist action, to ensure maximum absorption of this sweet/creamy/tart/caper filled taste, as I reached for a chip to accompany, strengthen the excellent experience I thought stupid would be a 'standard thing'. Now I took care of you like this, but I have seen on my chips a few each mouthful was an experience, depending on how I stacked the fork, hahahaha. the fish was so fresh that I was looking on my teller sand. ... to dedicate a joy to each chip. ... the muddy heaps, normally warmed, not microshaft to a mass-hotter-then-the-sun, went a tasty bite, and quickly also, for once. the lemon shattered haddock had to be tied to the plate, because this teig was so light that it almost raised to the deck. but as soon as this handmade tasty tartaric acid sauce meets, any responsible 'handler-of-the-fork', wants to make sure that its only trajectory can be swallowed in their waiting swallow. It was so good, I couldn't stand to leave a single diesel and with this tartaric acid sauce, which even made a bulky chip, was nothing left, I was ashamed to ask the cook the recipe for 'this sauce', as he made such a light oil-free beautiful teig. the staff is very attentive, courteous, with a beautiful large sitting area also. get yourself here quickly bungalows to make an ordinary experience, in an excellent exciting eating expedition into a court that we all know so well, but so different. ... enjoy."
