Came with family for some drinks, service was okay and drinks was nice and cold. Nothing to complain about nice pub

We had a fantastic meal last night. The chef is excellent and the food was fine restaurant quality. The choice of ales and wines to accompany the meal is good too. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the food and found it to be excellent value for money. The meats were cooked perfectly to our liking. The staff and service were attentive and helpful. The menu has something for everyone's tastes and there are plenty of options on the specials board! After our visit, we will definitely recommend it and will be back soon for more! Voir le carte

After hearing that the butchers' arms had improved, we decided to pay a visit based on that recommendation. What a disappointment. The same dull green decor and terrible lighting. Gloomy atmosphere with a limited menu of options. However, the fries and greasy onion rings were decent. The mashed potatoes were flavorful. Overall, it was not a successful visit.

when it was first re opened back in 2013 the food was excellent and the beer was kept on form and always a very good variety. however it has declined and the quality of food and also the real ales are not kept to a drinking standard. also a carling was purchased on order and it had a slight twang to it like the beer lines hadnt been cleaned for a few weeks. unfortunately i can say i dont think i will be visiting any time soon.

Living in the village i am so pleased that our local pub has dramatically improved its choice and quality of food on offer, a landlady willing to listen and an excellent new Chef who has developed a choice of specials which would be at home in any fine restaurant in the area.Coupled with this are a choice of ales, ciders and lagers, a log burner and regular weekend live music and the odd disco, the pub is on the up, Long may it continue!! We called in for lunch whilst walking our dogs on Easter Sunday. The pub was hosting a charity event for a local charity. We received a friendly and warm welcome from staff. The menu was perfect for a quick lunch for the event. The food was promptly delivered and was hot and delicious excellent value for money. The hot pork sandwiches were served with all the trimmings and were very filling highly recommended. Six happy walkers left the pub!! Why not five stars the pub looks a little tired inside, I think with some small changes the pub could be incredibly successful! Don’t let this put you off though as the staff and food make up for this!

Pub/restaurant in small village. We have had several meals here over the last year and initially the quality was very good indeed. Excellent value, too, with a good choice of real ales several provided by the Raw brewery and bottled Belgian ones also. However, the quality has recently fallen rapidly and our final meal was of similar quality to what one might have expected at school in the 60s and 70s. Bulk catering now dominates the ingredients and I suspect the cooking skills of whoever was responsible were of minimum standard. We will not return until we hear of sustained improvement. A great shame as the village needs a good pub/restaurant and for a while it had a great one.

We visited as a family in June. We booked inside the bar area and had a nice comfortable table. Plenty of starter choices however non of our party ordered one. Main meals again lots of choices and a specials board. Our party tried the steak and Stilton pie which came with a huge portion of chips, vegetables and a little jug of gravy. Couple had the sirloin steak and all the trimmings which both said was great value and cooked to perfection. One of the party had the chip shop platter and one had the scampi.
