"We are local and wanted an overnight getaway. Busta never disappoints! Great walks around the area and gardens to enjoy before heading into the long room for a drink or two before dinner. All the rooms have been tastefully redecorated to a nice standard. Dinner is a relaxing affair, with great wait staff! The menu doesn’t change much, but that’s not a bad thing, as their dinners are great and never disappoint! Best steak you will get in Shetland by far! The wine list is decent from around the world at great prices. If you know your wine, you don’t need to spend a fortune for a nice bottle if on a budget! I was surprised to find a bottle of Don Pérignon on the list 2012 at a reasonable price, which was lovely! After a three course dinner in the evening, I can’t recommend enough the light smoked poached local haddock and poached eggs to set you up for another walk. Highly recommend!"

Everything we ordered was delicious and hot.. The staff were on hand at all times and were very friendly and attentive. There was no waiting time between courses as they obviously had their eye on things.

The evening meal was just lovely, a perfect way to end our holiday. We really enjoyed the vegan and vegetarian menus, although we did notice that some items from the full menu were missing from the vegetarian menu. The desserts were huge and delicious! Voir le carte

Friendly and efficient service and good range of no nonsense and very reasonably priced lunch time pub food in a big old 4 storey 'Country House ' hotel) set in its own grounds near Brae I had delicious lentil soup, followed by a large portion of equally delicious steak ale pie, chips and veg and the other members of group were also very impressed with all their choices. The hotel looks like a fun place to stay.

The oldest continuously inhabited house in Shetland provides the setting for a fascinating hotel full of charm, character and history in every nook and cranny. With a wonderful aspect overlooking a tranquil bay, it is an ideal base to explore this stunning part of the world. Every single member of the staff were so welcoming and friendly, they really couldn’t have done any more to help make our stay such a pleasant one.

If you want tranquility, lovely scenery and a truly warm, friendly welcome everyone in situ then staying here is a must. We had to leave early because of an impending storm front. If we weren’t meeting family on the mainland we would have been more than happy to ride out the storm here in front of an open fire whilst working our way through their extensive malt whisky collection. Many thanks to all involved with the hotel and we are planning to return Voir le carte

What a perfect example of hospitality! We walked in hoping for a bar meal, but hadn't booked. The staff were welcoming, warm and professional and we got a table straight away. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. We had the pickled hering as a starter to share and it was delicous. Our main courses were superb too. The steak was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and well seasoned. The peppercorn sauce was gorgeous. The herb breaded whiting was juicy and delicious. We enjoyed the free choice of sides to go with our meal. All in all, a great dinner for a very reasonable price. Hotel owners should send their staff here for training to learn from this amazing team.

We had dinner there one night. This was consolation for not being able to book a room because they were full. We understand why. The hotel is charmingly old and cozy, with a splendid lounge and several rooms serving as the dining room. Service was fabulously attentive and helpful. My girlfriend started with house smoked gravlax and then chicken pieces in hoisin sauce with rice and veggies. I started with a combination plate with their mackerel pate and Atlantic pink prawns in sauce, followed by lamb pieces in a honey and whole grain mustard sauce. We shared sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. We had excellent wines. The food was superb. The bill was extremely reasonable, reflective of thei...

"We had a meal last Friday at the steak house in town, and didn’t have a good experience. I left a detailed review on their Facebook page to warn others about it and it appears it’s gone! Can’t see how that’s fair as it was...a fair warning to anyone going. Makes me wonder how many bad reviews have been removed. Would give a lot fairer outlook and how overpriced and unprofessional they are! This wouldn’t be as bad if it hadn’t cost so much, as I’d happily pay for a brilliant meal, but the fact this is a steak house with high prices, you expect a certain standard. In brief, Aimees steak was well over cooked, so told the waiter, who comes back and claims the steak continues to cook after it’s been rested!!! Hillarious that the chef thought that was true, being a steak house they need to be nailing every steak perfect especially at their prices! So anyway, told the waiter that wasn’t the case and I’m well experienced in cooking steak, but he claimed that was still the fact. And instead of discounting our meal for aimees half eaten steak, they offered a free drink! Also the seafood we had with it was over cooked and dry, muscled were terrible, as was the langoustines, and tasteless. Didn’t get any recompense for that. My meal was fine, I had a ribeye and was cooked bang on, maybe ribeyes don’t cook themselves after they’ve been rested And as for charging each for their sides, on top of their expensive meal, bit of a **** take! And one of Aimees gins was advertised contained ginger fever tree and was to cost but they added the mixer on top of the And then on our way out, after I grudgingly paid for the meal (which wouldn’t be that bad if it was a nice dining experience), a member of the kitchen staff looked Aimee up and down in disgust, obviously annoyed at HER for HIM doing a poor job of cooking the food. We will never be back and if they’re deleting reviews, they could be a lot worse as just this experience. Edit: I’d like to point out I put this review on the page to warn others and also allow the business to take some criticism, the customer is always right and all that. Removing the review has just annoyed me, that’s why I’ve made this post."
