"The food was very good through the three courses. My only qualification would be that I would have expected more bite in the scallops. But main courses (Sea Bass and Guinea Fowl) both very well cooked and presented. So to the desserts. We had two reservations about the context. First, there are too many tables in a small space. It felt crowded and even with only 50-60% full it was noisy at times. Secondly, we were offered water immediately but not drinks. We were then left for 15 minutes before being offered drinks. By which time we wanted to order food. So an opportunity missed for the restaurant and for us. But these were minor grumbles: the food was certainly not a disappointment. Not perhaps as imaginative as nearby Thomas' but less expensive."

So French inspired food made with fresh local produce.

The present Mrs Dan and myself don't get out much on our own, on account of the kids.

I have happily overlooked Bully's for yearsThe name reminds me of someone I shared a flat with when I was a student.

We had a lovely dinner; the raspberry soufflés were particularly fabulous. I enjoyed the ambience and music too; the service was also excellent. Would return often if we lived here. Voir le carte

Went here for the second time for Sunday lunch and would day that the food is just warm, the portions are small and and you have to pay for extra gravy which I think is disgraceful! Food you get is nice but sad they are making extra money for charging for extras ! Also my daughter had a plate of broccoli and it was £5 !

My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Bully’s in Feb. Extremely attentive staff, delicious food and great wine. We had looked forward to this for months after originally booking in November but had to delay for various health reasons. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Will definitely go back for another occasion deserving of such a treat.

Bully’s have been delivering consistently high standard food and service for over 20 years and it’s wonderful to see their standard nit just being maintained but excelled. The food is unpretentious, sublime with great ingredients wonderfully cooked and served by attentive and very friendly staff. Terrific selection of interesting wines and cocktails all wrapped up in that glorious restaurant decor. Another perfect evening thank you Voir le carte

Went to Bullys today for Sunday lunch after reading about the place online, I chose the Ravioli starter priced at £7.95, they only give 1 ravioli, surely they could give 2 ??? Mains : Chose the beef sirloin at £16.95, only 1 very thin slice of beef !!! The roast potatoes wasn’t that good, I don’t think they are using a good potato for roasting ? The restaurant was only about a third full, can’t help but think if you got a bit more value for your money perhaps you would get more repeat customers. Food tasted good but not a lot there, unfortunately I won’t be in a rush to return here, such a shame

Starters we amazing as we were not sure what to expect, these were pictures on a plate and full of flavour. Mains were superb with a cheesy mash and a side of fresh bread. Guinea fowl was cooked perfectly and was moist and tasty. The beef was pink and the Yorkshires fluffy. Mash as an extra was brilliant. All in all service was great food was better. Deserts were large by comparison and very sweet and very different. You need to try this place it’s not cheap as we paid £281.05 for a table or 6 at 3 courses no alcoholic drinks only pop and water. The flavours were all equally matched and all party members walked away happy. Look forward to trying the al a carte menu next.

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
