"My partner and I have already eaten at this restaurant a few years ago, it was absolutely fantastic back then so we decided to visit again for dinner and we heard that a new owner took over this establishment. We had no reservation yet we decided to try it out again for the 2nd time. We were told to first disinfect our hands before entering and we were told to fill out our names and phone numbers directly at the entrance before being seated. The restaurant was empty and there was only 1 table with 2 people seated. I told my partner that this seems odd that we were treated like trash yet we followed the waitress to our table and I mentioned that it’s a very unfriendly and unprofessional atmosphere, an older woman sitting at the bar I’m guessing this is the new owner), snapped back at me in a very rude voice that it’s not unfriendly and gave me a dirty look, maybe she had a problem with the way I was dressed or something, not sure what her problem was?? I told my partner that we should just leave because we were treated like trash and we will find another restaurant to dine at with friendlier service. I noticed that the bar was a bit dirty on the surface and wasn’t cleaned, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Pity actually, it used to be such a cool hangout with the previous owner."

only 5 stars recommended. were 4 on site and were totally impressed by the environment, the super-friendly and customer-oriented service. here is the chefin personally in the service and ensures that we were more than satisfied. "I went to visit family in Kelheim and was taken out by my folks for a half English-German lunch. The decor at Il Porcino is a little rustic, which is to be expected in rural Bavaria. But you are not here for the decor, but for the food. If you are not a local, the place is a little bit out of the way, but well worth coming to just for the food. In the summer you may need to book I table I was told by my mother. The pizza is amazing and thin crusted. Lots of different flavours. One of the best I had in this part of Bavaria. We also had starters and dessert, which were great. The staff is very friendly, even when it is busy and we managed fine in German as well as in English. Thank you!"

"Ich war zum ersten Mal im Piccolo da ich auf Besuch war. Ich wurde von einer sehr freundlichen und netten Bedienung begrüßt und zum Tisch gebeten. Dann kam gleich die Karte, nach einigen Minuten wurden die Getränke aufgenommen. Anschließend die Vorspeise und den Hauptgang. Zur Vorspeise: Gurkensalat mit Hausdressing , sehr frisch und das Dressing sehr lecker und empfehlenswert! Zum Hauptgang: Burito mit Meeresfrüchten und Zwiebeln und Paprika, mexikanisch im Geschmack und definitiv eine Empfehlung. Sehr lecker und bisschen Scharf also wer es mag dann zum Burito Gambas. Fazit: Großes Lob an die Küche denn Sie haben auf den Tellern alle Erwartungen übertroffen und mit viel Leidenschaft die Speisen zubereitet. Ein weiterer Dank an die Super freundliche Bedienung war sehr angenehm und man fühlte sich als Gast wohl und umsorgt. Schade das es nur 5 Sterne gibt , hätte gern mehr gegeben. 10 Sterne !!! Dankeschön, ich werde wieder dem Team vom Piccolo ein Besuch abstatten."

"Sehr gemütlich eingerichtetes Gasthaus. Die Leute sind super freundlich. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet, das Angebot sehr umfangreich. Zudem gutes regionales Bier. Die Preise sind OK. Wir waren vor ein paar Tagen dort, draußen war es kalt, aber innen herrlich gemütlich und warm, mit schönem Kaminfeuer. Die Atmosphäre war fast familiär, auch da sich herausstellte das man ursprünglich aus der selben Region stammt. Es war ein schöner Abend. Wir können dieses Gasthaus unbedingt empfehlen, und kommen sicher auch wieder wenn wir nochmal in der Gegend sind. Viele Grüße aus der „Haamit“ von Rodewisch nach Auerbach und nun Kelheim."

"So first, every cake I have so far picked up is very tasty and also the staff very friendly. For breakfast I have to say that there is until 13:30, we were there at 11:00. A bread basket, however, consisting only of brown grains. I was told that we are already too late and that there are only these remaining mammals. Too bad, because these little ticks are pushed back. The plates are pretty rich. But what I find personally exaggerated for crazy is for a minimum small bowl of fresh cheese, which is not enough for 3 half dolls to demand 2.50€. I see the need for measures either in the amount or at the price. The café has also come very into the years, a complete refreshment, as other Kelheimer gastronomy has imagined, would certainly also be well involved."

"Der Gasthof mit Biergarten liegt zentrumsnah direkt an dem Altmühl - / Donaukanal. Wohlfühlatmosphäre, bei sommerlichem Wetter im sehr gemütlichen Biergarten! Die Karte bietet eine große Auswahl leckerer Speisen. Typisch bayrische Gerichte, natürlich jahreszeittypisch Spargel, alle Schnitzel – Varianten, auch Wild, und selbstverständlich Biersorten heimischer Brauereien. Wir haben mehrfach hier gegessen, sowohl zur Mittagszeit als auch am Abend. Die Speisen waren sehr schmackhaft zubereitet und von sehr guter Qualität! Der Service war aufmerksamen, kompetent und freundlich!Ein Extra-Plus von uns für Küche, Service und das Preis – Leistungsverhältnis! Sehr empfehlenswert!"
