"We visited this Brasserie for lunch on a monday without reservation. We came in and asked if we could have lunch and the men who answered was not very hospitable. Like it was too much trouble too answer the question and to host us. We could have lunch, we hesitated because of how they reacted but decided to stay.At the table we had a very unpleasant waiter of around 30 years. He was totally not interested in us. When we were ordering, he was constantly looking the other way. There was an older waiter and he was not hospitable either. At around 3 o'clock a female waiter came in. She seemed much more okay. The food was okay, although I can't remember what we had. We paid 167 euro for 3 starters and 3 main courses and drinks. So not very cheap.AroundGo somewhere else and spend the money there would be my advice!"

Walked in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, the restaurant is opposite the bear park. Service needs improvement, we didn't feel too welcomed and so we also ordered just a main a a salad, taste not bad but be warned prices are not cheap there.

We were sat at the terrace eventhough we could only book inside. My wife had the lamb and I the dorade fish. Escargots as a starter. From start to finish it was an explosion of taste absolutly great. highly recommended but just do book in advance.

Brasserie Barengraben is an excellent choice for a quiet meal. It is not cheap, but really no more expensive than other restaurants in Switzerland. The quality of what we had was good to outstanding. There are several unusual menu offerings, like calves liver and pigs feet. The wine selection is small but diverse. Voir le carte

Down by the bear park sits a lovely spot for lunch (Maybe dinner as well.) Reasonably expensive, with service that was not the highest quality, the food was tasty, well presented, and worth what we paid. They were out of the plat du jour by 1:15, so my wife had the duck, I had the veal, we shared a wonderful salad to start, and shared two delicious desserts that we did not finish. Walked over to the bear park after the meal and then returned to the hotel happy and full. Comfortable to recommend you give it a try.

Today I proposed to my girlfriend and the team at the Brasserie made it an incredibly memorable occasion by adding flower petals and chocolate hearts onto the lunch table for decor and even putting little pink edible hearts into the salad. They wrote "I LOVE YOU" on my girlfriend's plate with sugar piping and balsamic sauce as I requested. The food was pefect, the service phenomenal and the staff exceed expectations by a mile. I can only highly recommend these guys. They'll grant your every wish. They didn't even charge us for a glass of champagne at the start. Unbelievably amazing service! 12/10 "Dankä sehr!"

A friend of mine loves this restaurant and invited me. Although we didn't have a reservation, a table was found. We ordered the plat du jour but replaced the soup with a salad which cost extra. The salad did not distinguish itself from any other...salad one gets in a normal Swiss restaurant. The main dish was a very tasty chicken corn fed and thin pasta. All in all it was ok, but nothing extraordinary. But what was unusual was the unfriendly service. Ninety five of all Swiss restaurants have very friendly and accommodating service personal. So this was rather disappointing to an otherwise pleasant but not spectacular lunch. Voir le carte

of 27 august we had lunch on the occasion of the birthday of my wife. the personal is so welcoming and organizes a perfect lunch. the menu card has a set of options. we both went for the steaktar who was of excellent quality and taste. well done chef! our other table partners had beautiful rösti with calves or leber slices. the recommended for red wine could not have been better since we had to continue our bike tour. the seating was nice, cozy and with beautiful fresh flowers. from the first minute to the last they feel well maintained. my wife was treated with a surprise birthday cake. we'll be back when we're in trouble. thank you again! luc nicole

This very appealing Brasserie, clearly in line of the French Tradition, offers excellent meat dishes and wines served on elegant tables covered with white linen table clothes. The Roquefort Feuilleté was superb, crispy and tasty, as was the kidney in the mustard sauce (à la dijonnaise) accompaigned with delicious rösti (roasted shreded potatoes.) The "tarte tattin" (caramelized apple pie) was the perfect last and sweet stop on our menu. On top of this, a well bodied red wine from Valais, full of bouquet (Syrah de Géronde.) The staff is very friendly and top professional. The place is small, so book well in advance. It is located at the lower end of the innner old city, close to the place whe...
