"We were looking for something out of the Kaiserslautern area to get away from the loud obnoxious Americans with their loud obnoxious undisciplined children and decided to make the short drive to Homburg. After checking TripAdvisor (of course), we decided on Portofino. The restaurant sits...on a main street with many other restaurants and shops. There are plenty of places to park and large lots close by. The pizza was very good and worth the drive. There was plenty of cheese and was very tasty. My wife got the regular size and I got the large. Not much difference and they had the same amount of toppings. As always, we start with the Caprese salad. Average. For a large salad to split between two people it could of been a bit larger. The bread they brought with the salad was very good and the spicy olive oil was REALLY good. There is outdoor seating, but it is on the sidewalk next to the street. We had to listen to motorcycles being revved to max RPM every 5 minutes. Not the restaurants fault, but does detract from sitting outside. Service was typical and average for Germany and prices were average for the area."

If you love pizza, you must try this place. Pizza is excellent, service is friendly. It is a very nice place, but make sure you make a reservation or you may not get a table.

I went once and was very pleased with the excellent crusty, thin, crispy pizza from the wood fired oven. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. A relaxing atmosphere I will definitively return soon.

The place is highly Italian (a lot of the waiters are Italian) and the food is just delicious. They also have a good selection of wines and the prices are related with the quality, so a bit high. It is extremely welcoming. Voir le carte

In homburg, this is where I come for Italian food. It has the feel of an Italian bistro, with a wood fired oven, Italian staff, wonderful wines and all the Italian food favorites. White tablecloths, warm and friendly atmosphere. In the warm weather months, they...open up the patio. On busy nights you may want a reservation.

my wife and I have often been in portofino and have always found the staff and eating excellent. as close as possible in Italy. we have experienced a little swallow today. we went to lunch, but not entered the main door. we have done that, we would have seen the daily special and had that instead of the pizzas we had. the waitress has not informed us about the special. our proposal? the management ensures that waitresses inform customers about the daily special. thanks for listening and....KEEP up the great work
