"What a difference a couple of days can make! The food was just as delicious as during our first visit, but the service was a different story. It's been a long time since we've encountered such a long list of service issues, from the moment we arrived right through to the difficulties we faced when it came time to pay the bill—it was truly appalling. Our friends even wondered why we had chosen Balloch House for this dining experience, despite the high quality of the food."

"We popped in for lunch after driving down from Fort William on a Friday. The place was quite busy,with no booths available so we took one of the centre tables, but the very MINUTE another guest left she moved us to a booth by the...window. The first menu we were handed was the lunch menu, which offers 3 courses for £8. But being from the Fort where there are 3 TERRIBLE chinese restaurant we asked or the full alacarte. I ordered salt pepper chicken wings for a starter, and the Seafood combo, and his fine self ordered the oriental chicken noodle soup and a beef curry withh fried riice. My wings came and the portions were so large I shared with him! He throughly enjoyed his soup woth the oriental egg noodles an got some wings as a bonus-lol!Shortly after the waitress advised me that the kitchen was out of scallops for my combo, but offered me extra others in it which was AMAZING. It came out with a surplus of big fat juicy prawns, squid and mussels in a sesame sauce garnished with an edible rice flower truly outstanding! His beef curry was devine also, the onions in it were thick and sweet, and the curry sauce was just spicy enough with a light cinnamon undertone.Needless to say, we both hit the clean plate club and had NO room for desert! YUM YUM YUM! PS I used to live not far from this restaurant and their take-aways are just as good as their sit downs Always a treat to visit here!"

"The service was good the food really nice not a bad a flat white too. And the views are just beautiful, they've got a really nice area outside to sit, an amazing coffee shop (the cakes! Which is separate from the restaurant and a take away coffee shack and an ice cream shack in the summer. Walkability: It's all on a flat road and you can take a nice walk, which is mostly off the main road. It has a sandy beach next to it, where people do a lot of wild swimming ."

"I’m afraid the two word heading is “very disappointing”. There was a queue to get in with us out in the cold while some woman was arguing with the girl on reception. Then, having got to our table at the far end, we found that there was no waitress to take a drink order back to the bar. Food chosen and back to the bar again. And pay in advance. Service it’s not; this is Wetherspoon Style. I had the carvery with carefully weighed portion to make sure I didn’t get too much. Looked good but the beef was so tough it couldn’t be chewed; it was replaced with turkey but this sort of thing really should not happen. The scampi looked good but there was very little fish inside the large crispy outer layer. No one came to ask if we were enjoying our meal perhaps just as well. We decided not to risk a dessert and went home. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"Upon entry we initially gave the stables the benefit of the doubt. Poor and tired surroundings stark dark and depressing with no atmosphere. We then let the ripped seating go, even let the sticky uncleaned table go and thick dust on window ledge. We then excused the dirty stained and ripped menues we were handed go. But I could not let the 2 dead slaters go that were lying on their backs on my bench seat. We left quickly and cancelled meals. Superb restaurants in Balloch minutes walk away. Inexcusable to offer such low standards and easily remedied if owners cared."
