"the bay horse is part of the group of vintage inns and that was my first visit in one of their restaurants to taste their vegan menu and when we took a non- vegan friend to lunch, I needed somewhere catering for all of us. the vegan options are not only a token salad or after the thought, but a good selection of appetizers, netzens, sides and desserts. there are several soups on the menu and you are always vegan, so we have both chosen flower cabbage mulligatawny, served with ciabatta brot. the suppe was hot pierced, with a beautiful thick texture and warming on a cold June lunchtime, with a lot of brot to dive and clean the bowl. as a main course I ordered pine nut and carrot-false, with a side of fried butternuss quiver and carrot and spiced squash coconut curry for nabeby. the falafel with spiced red pepper peel and ciabatta were as tasty as the butternut pumpkin and sweet potato and even though an appetizer, it was much big enough as lunch. hubby’s curry was a good part, the loads of vegetables and drilling and the carburized chilis on the top added much heat, so much so that he had a real sweat, but he loved it. we were too full for dessert, although the puddings in the offer were very tempting, but it is good to see that they are not only fruit salad. I think vintage inns vegan menu is a fabulous offer that eat is satisfied with a lot of taste and good price-performance ratio and I will return definitiw."

It is very difficult to fault this establishment. The food was top class and much enjoyed. We ordered burgers, scampi, and a gammon steak, and all were at the top of their game. They were accompanied by beautiful chips and the price for these were very reasonable. To cap all this, the staff are very friendly, the service was good, there is a pool table, and it is dog friendly. What more could you ask for?

Truth be told, We popped in here as we needed the toilet. But as I can 't go into a pub without ordering a drink, we did just that. Imagine my surprise after ordering our drinks that it was happy hour and we got our drinks for an even better price. We then sat down down and chatted with a local couple who made us feel so welcome. As did everyone else who was in the pub. Thank you to everyone who made what should have been a quick stop off turn into almost an hour of fun.

a few weeks ago I have friends to the bay horse, to two separate places, for a meal. both were from the opposite and had visited the pub before there and took over gemma. they were pleased to receive a warm welcome from staff, a roaring fire, a clean pub, served well kept beer and good priced, delicious and filling food. as a native it is now great that they can be proud to take friends in their local pub. it's been a long time since that was the case. well done and many thanks to dan and gemma for their hard work.

I recently visited The Bay Horse, a restaurant belonging to the Vintage Inns group, to try their vegan menu. This decision was made to accommodate a non-vegan friend who joined us for lunch. I was impressed by the variety of vegan options available, including starters, mains, sides, and desserts. We both started with the cauliflower mulligatawny soup, served with ciabatta bread. The soup was deliciously hot, had a thick texture, and was perfect for a chilly June afternoon. For my main course, I ordered the pine nut and carrot falafel with a side of roast butternut squash. My husband opted for the spiced squash coconut curry. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The falafel came with a...

"Thai Basil is the best restaurant in Skipton, which we have frequented regularly since it first opened in 2011. We have always been made to feel very welcome by the Thai family who run the restaurant. The food has always been excellent and the staff attentive and caring, we felt looked after , more often than not being treated to a free dessert, by lovely Pat and her husband. Last year, Pat and her husband moved to the Kings at Clitheroe, and friends of theirs took over the running of Thai Basil in Skipton. I have submitted previous excellent 5 star reviews of Thai Basil, on this occasion I have given the restaurant 3 stars for one reason only, being told we had to vacate our table in 5/10 minutes, immediately after our plates had been cleared. I had booked our table (for 6 for a birthday celebration) three weeks in advance, for 6.30pm Saturday. At the time of booking there were two other bookings, one for 6.00 and one for either 7 or 7.30. I made the booking in person, when dining there one lunchtime. At no time was I told there would be a time limit on our stay, not when booking, not on arrival, or by telephone before arriving. We arrived on time at 6.30. our starters arrived about 7.00, and our mains probably towards 7.30. At 8.05, when still finishing our drinks, the young waitress came to our table and said we would need to leave in 5/10 minutes. 90 minutes is not very long for a party of 6 to have a celebratory meal. I complained and was told by the young server that she did not want to tell us to leave but had been told by the more senior server that she had to. I then spoke to the more regular server and complained , he did not apologise or explain. I told him (with whom I had made the booking in person) we would leave when we were ready, as at no point had we been told our booking was time limited. It was clear that they had overbooked, to accommodate a party of 16. Our table must have been booked out again at 8pm for diners who were waiting in the entrance hall. I was very disappointed by our experience. and was tempted to remove the optional service charge which is now automatically added to your billI but didn 't as the food and service had been good. I know this would not have happened if Pat and her husband were still in charge. It spoiled what should have been an excellent night out."

"What a wonderful discovery! While on our canal holiday, we docked at Low Bradley on a sunny Sunday afternoon and ventured into Bradley in search of a pub. We were thrilled to come across the Slaters, with its amazing patio perfect for a sunny day and possibly the best view I've ever seen from a pub patio. Dogs were welcome to sit outside, with plenty of water bowls provided for them. It felt a bit like a dog show, especially when we joined the crowd with our two Newfoundlands! After enjoying a couple of drinks, we took our dogs back to the boat and returned to the Slaters for dinner. We were lucky to snag a table as they were fully booked, a testament to the quality of the food. The menu offered something for everyone, from fresh fish to steaks, great vegetarian options, and Sunday roasts on the specials board. My spinach ricotta lasagne was delicious, and my partner's fish and chips disappeared in no time. The portions were generous, so we had to skip dessert, although we did indulge in a delicious garlic bread starter. I couldn't help but notice a person at the next table enjoying the homemade New York cheesecake, which looked amazing and came in a huge portion. It's funny how some really slim people can eat so much! Overall, the Slaters Arms is a fantastic pub with delicious food. I have to give a special shoutout to the landlord and landlady, who despite being busy, were friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat with everyone. It was a refreshing change. The Slaters Arms has my vote, and we will definitely return, even though it's not particularly close to home."
