You go downstairs into what seems to be the basement of an office, but rather than a cozy, dark room the place itself feels quite bright and sparsely decorated. We partly went hoping to hear upbeat and authentic Spanish music but were disappointed that it was instead hard rock. At one point this was turned so high with shreaking guitar riffs that we could not continue our conversation. At this point we complained to a waiter, only to be told that this was their play list and they are not changing it (ok, then we won't be back! but he did turn it down. It is a shame that these ambience points overshadowed the overall nice food. Tortilla, padrón peppers and churros were excellent. Other dishes were good too (an aubergine stew was however a bit too salty and oily and the menu is vast, and suitable for veggies. The house red is also decent."

A lovely meal with family at this hidden gem in the City. In the run up to Christmas, it was busy but the food was as tasty and authentic as always (3rd visit). In particular, the tortilla and the paella were praised by all.

As Spanish we have to say that the food was the worst ever. Never again. And sorry for the waiter because he was nice. That’s the only good thing there. And please, change the name for Pulpo a la Gallega ‘cause it doesn’t deserve that name.

When you arrive, be aware that there are stairs to access the restaurant, so it may not be suitable for those who have difficulty climbing stairs. The seating area has a dim atmosphere with a fair amount of background noise. The food was delicious and the service was friendly, so no complaints in that department. I suggest ordering about four tapas dishes per person and sharing them with the group, as they are on the smaller side.

I had a voucher for this restaurant, so I brought a friend along. We had made a reservation a few days in advance (as is required with a voucher), but when we arrived, they claimed they had no record of our booking. They seemed to make light of the situation, despite our good review, and kept us waiting for 30 minutes while they contacted their manager to confirm if we could use the voucher. My friend and I were tempted to leave, but we were both hungry and determined to eat. Eventually, the manager allowed us to be seated and we offered him a copy of the voucher (he declined our physical copy!).
