"I have waited quite a long time to go to Claridges as I am not in London often, but a friend and I make the trip annually to try afternoon tea at one of the big establishments and then review them. Firstly, despite trying to book afternoon tea 3 months ago I was told they were fully booked for afternoon tea but we could have the lunch menu instead. I was disappointed by this and even more so when I got there today to find people either side of me having afternoon tea. When I questioned why there wasn't room for us to have afternoon tea too I was told it was served in a separate area which was full. I pointed out the people next to us and was just given a load of mumbles and excuses. It makes no sense. If they have room to seat you surely they can serve you either afternoon tea or lunch especially with 3 months notice. The lunch was nice but grossly overpriced. I could have made it myself for about £20. They got my main wrong but I accepted what they brought as I didn't want my friend to be waiting for me while they redid my dish. I presumed that they would charge me for the dish I ordered and not the one they brought me in error which was over £20 more. They didnt. I didn't notice this until after we paid. I also asked for a rose prosecco but if they didn't have it white would be fine. I was poured a glass of rose fizz but it turned out to be rose Champagne at twice the price. I also discovered this on the bill. Very sneaky on 2 counts. We had to ask for the bill twice before it was brought. The service was okay, everyone was OTT polite but it was very fake and the same person didn't come back twice, we must have had over 5 people in total wait our table. With the discretionary tip of 12.5% (which I think is a very impolite way of asking for more money and making it awkward for you to say no) the lunch came to over £260. I agree with all the comments about it being a tourist trap. It is overpriced and doesn't have the lustre of the photos you see. There is no atmosphere, no USP. They just count on the footfall I think. It might have been the number one place to go at one point but now it wouldnt make my top 10. The doormen didn't even acknowledge us so we got the door both in and out ourselves. Very disappointed!"

This was hands down the best high tea experience we’ve ever had. The ambience is gorgeous and the tea and food was delicious. Our server, Alix, gave us the best service we could’ve ever asked for. She was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we could ever want. We felt like true royalty and will never forget this experience

I was gifted with afternoon tea at Claridges for Mother's Day and it was truly a fantastic experience. Our waiter, Mario, was calm, efficient, and engaging. The sandwiches were classic (salmon, ham, and egg) but had unique twists, and the pastries were delightful. To top it off, they provided us with beautiful "doggy bags" to take home. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Brilliant an excellent afternoon tea. The selection of teas is excellent and the sandwiches and savouries are great but what really distinguishes an afternoon tea at Claridges is the excellence of the staff. They are knowledgable and extremely accommodating. We’ve been to lots of afternoon teas across many of London’s usual haunts but this is the best in our experience. Would highly recommend Voir le carte

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch in The Foyer and Reading Room. The staff were friendly, polite and very attentive. This is our 'go to ' restaurant when visiting London. The food was delicious and the ambience wonderful. We then enjoyed drinks and desserts in Claridges Bar. Again our waiter was excellent couldn 't do enough for us. George stopped and chatted to us for a while about the hotel which was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Arrived to a buzzing Claridges to enjoy some afternoon tea! A friendly warm welcome on arrival. We were a pair of greedy guests and did not say no to offers of more delicious sandwiches and scones! Tea was also replenished regularly, we had several pots! The team were super friendly and we had a good laugh with them. We did enjoy a look around the hotel and I must say everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming! Sometimes very grand hotels can be stuffy, not at Claridges!! What a wonderful time we had in Claridges and thank you to the team for making our day so special!

I usually don't write reviews, but I had to make an exception today to commend Todd, our waiter, after my afternoon tea experience at Claridges for my 60th birthday celebration. Despite a hiccup with the reservation and a table setup issue upon arrival, Todd promptly arrived to serve us and turned our experience around. He was the best waiter I have encountered, being knowledgeable, extremely courteous, and accommodating to various dietary needs. His engagement with each person in our group of different ages was exceptional and truly made our afternoon special. Todd is a valuable member of the Claridges team and helped change my initial reservations about the process. Thank you Todd for a fa... Voir le carte

I fulfilled a long held ambition and attended for Afternoon Tea on Friday 1 September. My experience more than lived up to expectations, from the moment I entered the hotel everyone I encountered went out of their way to make me feel welcome and special. The Foyer is a true art deco masterpiece and is such an elegant venue, however the true stars are the staff who although very busy, delivered a first class service. My waiter Jairo was excellent, very knowledgeable and I had a good laugh with him he explained the order of service, the various sandwich fillings and teas available and made sure my champagne and tea were replenished regularly. The sandwiches were really good and I was given ano...

Afternoon tea is a meal we don't have time for in our busy working day, so for my husband's birthday treat we decided to go to Clarridges. I was slightly uneasy as tea is served in the foyer and I do hate eating in cold places that feel more like railway stations, but all fears were soon allayed. The foyer was warm and welcoming on a cold wet day, the staff were friendly, we were quickly seated and served. A glass of Champagne was included in the price and the list of tea choices is impressive. Don't want tea? No problem, coffee and chocolate are also on the menu. An appetising tiny tartlet of caramelised onion, goat's cheese and fig was served first, then we were offered a large plate of fi...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
