"A real hidden gem. Engi is a very small village on the shore of a large reservoir. We arrived and were shown to a table in a very traditional Spanish dining room. The menu came up on our phones. The waitress said she would bring a selection of staters and delivered a very smooth tomato garlic and bread cold soup garnished with chopped egg. This was followed by a plate of jamon and then four very large roasted prawns. Frankly with the bottle of cold red wine which arrived we could have stopped there. What then arrived was a rib of beef on the bone, deliciously rare and sprinkled with coarse salt, some roasted peppers and first class very hot chips. Feeling in need of a pause we retired to the outside terrace where I had a coffee flan and my husband had a lemon crème brûlée with lemon ice cream and cream. With a coffee and one beer and enough beef for the next two days €66 changed hands ."
