German Tapas basically. Small portions, very good quality, tasty wine and beer as well. The restaurant is perfect for a night out with friends, always very crowded, reservation is highly recommend

This place is always crowded but you have a good service. Our waiter was very nice and friendly because he recommended to us several great dishes as we did not know this kind of gastronomy. Everything was very tasty and I strongly recommend this restaurant

the place looked good, but eating was over mediocre: the cheese was good, but the cheese was inedible (waaay too much salt), the bratkartoffel also contained too much salt. Moreover, the waiters have forgotten our drink order, so it was really slow, but also expensive, especially in comparison to quality. no recommended! Voir le carte

Baren is fantastic and always bustling which shows how good it is amongst tourist and locals. The portions of the food are deliberately small so you can order a tapas style range of options. My mum and I loved the Schupfnudeln and the Wurst Teller....It is really excellent. The service on the night we went was a bit slow and it took a long time to get staffs attention but really considering how delicious and affordable the food was, we didn’t mind!

We are visiting Tübingen for over four years now, but this a new favorite on our list. Gasthaus Bären offers a real local experience for a very fair price. The concept is simple: Swäbian Tapas. So you choose a couple of small dishes to share....Service is very friendly. It is not possible to book a table, so be on time if you want a place. Also, they have some very affordable wines and when you come early they are very cheap (sort of happy hour). The restaurant is very suitable for vegetarians too, although of the menu is with meat

We went recommended by a family member living in the city, as his preferred place in town. And I understand perfectly well why. Although super crowded, we were lucky to find a spot on a busy Friday evening, and even crammed into a corner we...enjoyed it so much we spent hours here. The beer is cheap, and the small German plates are all absolutely fabulous. We tried almost everything on the menu and nothing was wasted. Best meal in town for sure. My partner and I went to Bären and ordered the "Wurst Teller Ausschnitt" and of the house red wine. The wine was OK and well-priced but the wurst teller (sausage plate) was disappointing in every respect. For euros, the portions were very small...and the meats had nearly no discernible flavor. It was clear that they sat in a refrigerator for some time and were quite dry. The atmosphere is very good, one of the better vibes in Tübingen... The other thing to know is that this restaurant is cash only. I wish they had a sign or something indicating this, as it's very inconvenientif you need to walk to an ATM to get cash. we had 8 different tapas: beetle: the pasta was overcooked, there were more looked than bee in the sauce, it needed more salt and instead of a good bribe with roasted whistle, it came with like two pieces of beetle in the middle.
