I had a fantastic meal at baab. It was a surprise to find such a great restaurant in Oban and not in Glasgow or Edinburgh. I had 2 courses plus wine, the bill could have been less but I was greedy and ordered a few side plates. I had a great view of the harbour and the setting was relaxing. Price per person: £40–50

Great food and atmosphere. Professional service. It was a little pricey, but that's to be expected in a tourist area. Our meals were fresh and well prepared. Delicious! Very disappointed as I normally enjoy Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine. The lamb kebab I had was overcooked and burnt on the outside. The flavours were there but the preparation let it down. Overpriced as well at nearly £20 for a few pieces of lamb and some salad. Rice was extra which I felt should really be included at the price. Can’t recommend it unfortunately. Service: Dine in

I suspect that many foreign tourists in Europe might expect an American-style dining experience, whereas establishments like Baab offer a European dining ambiance that tends to be more leisurely and indulgent. While it can feel a bit slow at times, I believe it's worth embracing that experience. It's worth mentioning that Baab is a Mediterranean restaurant located in the Scottish Highlands—a delightful surprise!
