ASK Italian Amersham

We ate there this last Saturday 1st April with out family and were really disappointed with the food.

Great modern Italian decor with a modern menu and vibe. Wasn 't blown away with 'lite ' pizza I ordered.

Tucked away just off the high street, Prezzo is inviting, clean and cosy. The food was OK Italian fare, but nothing special. I had a calzone which Voir le carte

Really nice, freshly cooked food. Fresh ingredients and made to order. Good range on the menu and pizzas particularly are great. Set in a lovely old building, the staff and service is great, and also cater well for young children

Set in Old Amersham this restaurant is quite picturesque with large open fire places and exposed timber beams. Service here has always been exceptional, booking is advisable as they get busy. Food is good and as you would expect from Ask Italian. Not large portions with some feeling a bit mainstream but pizzas are good.

We used to prefer Pizza Express in Amersham, but the chefs consistently undercook the pizzas, leaving them doughy and mushy. We decided to try Ask instead and were pleasantly surprised by the 100% better pizzas, as well as the huge selection and gluten-free options available. Although a bit pricey at over £70 for three people at lunch without ordering alcohol, we would definitely return. Voir le carte

Had a group meal with 15 of us in a useful mezzanine room. Service was friendly and quick, though the table wasn 't prepared despite pre booking. Food was of variable standard. My chicken bacon salad was poor for the price just a lot of little gem lettuce with a bit of chicken bacon and a quarter of an avocado which was blackened, having been chopped some time earlier. Overall, a 'curate 's egg ' experience.

It is such a nice looking little restaurant in a great area. Unfortunately the service is miserable and completely non-existent, we stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes as multiple staff just ignored us. When seated, and throughout the meal, the service was miserable and lacked any sort of basic hospitality. We felt like a complete inconvenience. The food was acceptable but definitely not worth putting up with the bad service for and not worthy of the premium prices. There are plenty of other nice restaurants around here, so give this one a miss. On complaining however, Head Office have offered a complimentary replacement meal for 2 at any of their restaurants, so full credit for that....

Although the food at this restaurant was good, the service was extremely slow and disorganized. The starters arrived at different times, with one dish missing a part. We waited a long time for our mains and even after finishing our meal, it took 20-30 minutes for the dessert menu to be brought to us. When we finally asked for the bill and for our leftovers to be packed up, there was a delay in providing boxes. The staff only asked about payment method after we had already put on our coats and stood up. Despite a good vegan menu, the lack of cleanliness in the toilets and the overall lack of customer service led us to determine that we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to...
