£89 for Boxing Day Luncheon..It was a rip-off Bland cauliflower soup,reheated roast potatoes, beef curling at the edge,cardboard tasting Yorkshire pudding,no cranberry sauce..unbelievable The environment is splendid,we stayed in October but dined at the Brasserie sadly we will not return Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

To celebrate our 47th Wedding Anniversary we decided to lunch at the Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club. For under £20.00 per head we had the most delicious 2 course meal with unlimited coffee. The service could not be faulted, there was no waiting and the staff were both courteous and attentive. An anniversary to remember.

There are some negative reviews which as a retired international chef I found unwarranted. Superb food and service. Prices are not for the feint hearted but you know that before you arrive, it’s five star with two rosettes so you would go for that very special occasion. We stayed for two nights and loved it. Came here with my grandchild. It’s a very poorly setup restaurant. If you order from the regular menu rather than the daily offerings it takes up to 1 hour to receive an appetizer. The food is not good, with risotto which tastes like porridge, the fillet was full of sardines and the “chicken wings” consisted of 3 tiny pieces of meat which were ridiculously spicy.An overrated restaurant not worthy of the building it is in. They can do better

Really disappointing. One underwhelming course after the other. A slab of cold goats cheese followed by over cooked linguine with no pesto (as advertised) and a selection of bland cheeses on dry biscuits (the grapes were the highlight of this course). I expected fine dining but the most enjoyable thing about it was the olive bread and butter. The piano playing was very nice. The quality and execution of the food does not tally with the high prices. What a shame.

We had a voucher for a sparkling tea. Reassured by their website that pronounced their covid measurs were above government guidelines I allayed my 93 year olds Mums fear about going. We were able to sit outside which was of much covid reassurance to Mum...And all was well in this wonderful place which Mum pronounced to be 'the real macoy '...they even catered very impressively for my vegan diet...all was well until we paid in the reception lounge. Mum had thought we would not need to hand over our gift card as they had already got our details when we booked on the phone, but not so...she wore her mask, I was lulled into a false sense of security and destracted that Mums very poor hearing mea...
