Altstadt - Carte

We have been for dinner and everything was very good! The server was super kind .it's very typical ! I suggest that place if you want to eat well!

We had a lovely lunch. The food was very good. The staff could have been a bit friendlier. They were very efficient in they communication, nothing more nothing less.

It was pretty pricey, and the options were fairly limited. Nice atmosphere, but I really wasn't able to warm to the place. Still, they did have ostrich, which was different. Voir le carte

nice resteraunt inside and out but the service didn't match the decor. never asked once how my meal was although it was busy i would at least expected that. my steak was quite nice but the fries not so good.

We stopped here for lunch. I had the local beer with the Altstadt teller (a mixed grill with bratkattoffel and roasted vegetables). My other half had a Croatian white wine with Gulasch soup. Service was excellent. Price was reasonable.

We wanted German food and chanced upon this restaurant in the old city. The dinner was good and service friendly. A few nights later we returned and again, we were happy with our choice! If you want local cuisine, you won't be disappointed. Voir le carte

We chanced on this place one Saturday night. It didn't disappoint, we had the house sharing platter which consisted of what seemed to be half a pig, a kilo of fried potatoes and a years ration of sauerkraut! Was a really hearty meal but very well cooked meat, the knuckle was excellent as was the wurst. We washed it all down with a few Altbier and left very satisfied and a few kilos heavier for the experience!

The six of us were only in Düsseldorf for one night; we needed to eat and had heard of the Altstadt as being a good traditional German restaurant and it is. We hadn't booked; it took an age to find it after leaving the U-Bahn station and the restaurant was busy but a table was secured inside and the service from the English speaking local was first class. The beer was good; the food was better! Two drinks and a main course cost around €25 and it was well worth it. I cheekily asked for a discount for cash but unsurprisingly didn't get one but a nice surprise was a complimentary glass of schnapps to round off an excellent evening.

I came here with my wife, daughter and son-in-law while on holiday in Dusseldorf.We left very disappointed by the experience.First of all it was impossible for everyone in our party to sit comfortably at the table we were given. Because the seats on one side were fixed to the wall and the restaurant had squeezed in an extra table, seat and table were not aligned and two family members could only eat if they straddled two chairs.The extra table was so close to our own that we had to move it to allow two dinners to get in - and they were so close to us that they might as well have been part of our meal.Our waiter was repeatedly rude and off hand.
