"I was traveling together with 4 friends on a cycling tour around the Steinhuder Meer. We had started in Steinhude and had about half the way around the noon, wanted to drink some warmth and possibly eat a little bit. It was quite cold, and so we were very right that we were passing by the old school by chance. We didn't need to discuss whether we wanted to go in here or not, we just stopped our wheels and entered. First of all, teachers welcomed us Lämpel, many perhaps still known from the Struwelpeter. He stood in the entrance and watched over his students. We looked around first, saw to the left slightly elevated a room to reach a stairway in which 2 3 tables were already occupied. Just out there was a small cake cooler on a table filled with various cakes and cakes. We turned to the right where we went to another guest room where there were also about 4 5 tables. There was only one table. But before it went into this small guest room, a large long table with about 10 chairs stood directly vis a vis from the vault. It was perfect for us. We settled there. A nice service came to us immediately, brought menus that were designed in the form of a fible. Actually, we were after a hot drink, we chose Latte Macchiato and coffee, and it was the first time that cakes or cakes were added. So we looked at the cake showcases more closely and then chose almost all one piece. Once again at the table, the friendly service with the drinks came to us and wanted to pick up the food order, but before we looked again into the Fibel and suddenly had much more pleasure on something piquant. The service smiled and said that we had time and they should decide in peace. That was good, because the dishes were all superficial and were not standard. This means, for example, there was a letter soup suitable for German lesson or a soup called French Revolution . In the vegetarian courts, Malan was tempted to revive the Pythagoras or Schiller's bell at the main courts. I could have experienced a class trip to Pellworm at the fish dishes. The creative and so great names for the dishes were tempting to order them all. But we decided only for a little bit, because we had to reach the parking lot until the dark and no longer had enough time for a longer stay. So we ordered the potato saucer with vegetable strips and garlic salami for 4.90 a.m., and only one of us stayed with his cake order. We looked around while we were waiting for dinner. Many loving details noticed us that would fit into a school. The ink barrel or fence, which was designed in the form of colorful oversized pencils. The decor was bright and objective, but it was through the many decorations, here we felt very comfortable. After about 15 minutes, the quilts came in the form of a small terrine, it smelling good, and we immediately sprinkle unisono. Delicious I can tell you, groundy and yet extravagant through the vegetable strips in it and the fine garlic salami. We were almost sad when we had eaten and actually liked to try something else. Then it went on, we paid, all separately, that was no problem and quickly done. When we walked out, we looked at the entrance area more closely, in which small dolls were also suspended and there were also brochures and information about the Steinhuder Sea. The old school also houses a hotel, and I can imagine that I will try it out. For me, however, it is definitely clear that I want to come back to the right meal at the next opportunity. An absolute recommendation!"

The last time a bike ride around the Steinhuder Meer visited! Was once a school and is decorated in this tradition also inside. The German dishes all taste very good and have amusing names like German lesson or similar! Measured by the good piorations and good quality, the price is reasonable to favorable!

We were there. The room is too small, the bathroom is too small. The beds are bad. It is all without a cozy atmosphere in the hotel area. Breakfast rather carved in principle without selection and visible service. Overall, the high price of 96 EURO is fully covered. There is no particularly good sound at the staff. It is not recommended as a hotel, we were there the last time.

By chance we came to the Old School in Mardorf and have eaten there at noon. The old school is furnished with a lot of attention to detail (dintenfaß on the table, tables, school books) and very cozy. It invites you to linger and makes memories of your own school. In addition, the food is really high quality, very tasty, extensive and really leaves nothing to be desired. The next time at the Steinhuder Meer we don't land there by chance, but drive in a targeted manner. Very happy again!
