"Although the vibe here was nice and looked promising in the beginning, the night here ended in catastrophe. Firstly, the waitress got our orders wrong (for both mains). We brushed this off as we didn’t want to make a fuss. We were served a pork steak and hot plate beef steak. Then at the end we saw the bill and had an unpleasant surprise about how much we were about to pay for something we didn’t even order. Little did we know what awaited us… nevertheless we paid for it as it was our fault for not bringing it up in the first place, and left. Later that night, both myself and my husband woke to severe symptoms of food poisoning vomiting, diarrhoea etc. It had to have been the pork steak they served me (which my husband also tried from me) which was severely undercooked (which we foolishly ate). I guess we assumed if a restaurant was serving us medium rare pork then it was safe to eat. A brutal lesson learnt to never eat pork underdone or to ever visit this restaurant again."

"das Restaurant Ried liegt an allerbester Lage und Aussicht auf der Talabfahrt. Diese lohnt sich aber schon zum Zmittag/Mittagessen. Man folgt also ab der Sessellift Talstation Patroularve der Piste rechts bis auf den Weg, und schon ist man da. Uns wurde ein sehr schönes Tatar, resp. frische Pasta an superber Sauce (da ich keinen Lachs mit Pasta mag, bekam ich Schinkenwürfeli) kredenzt….der Heida zum Apéro war süffig, der Johannisberg ebenso….auch der Rotwein im Offenausschank danach liess keine Wünsche offen….so konnte uns Patron Claudio verführen zu einem Tiramisu und einem Zwetschgentöpfli zum Nachtisch….wunderherzig kredenzt…sowas tut der schlechtwetter-geschundenen Seele gut; ABER, wer nun denkt, das Lokal sei nur dann ein Trumpf, der irrt….auch bei Sonnenschein lässt es sich dort auf der Terrasse gut aushalten, vom Aprés-Ski ganz zu schweigen….die Piste rechts nehmen….denkt daran!"

"Die Karte verspricht typische Schweizer Gerichte. Die kann man auch bestellen. Die Erfinder von Rösti und Co. würden sich aber im Grabe umdrehen, müssten sie die Rösti vom Täscherhof essen. Fettig, geschmacklos und pampig wurden sie und in 3 Zubereitungsarten serviert. Wir saßen so, dass wir auch die Zubereitung des Raclette beobachten konnten. Meist hängen die Finger der Bedienung im Käse. Sie wurden danach von ihr abgeschreckt und danach der Teller serviert. Mahlzeit. Wir sind nicht überempfindlich aber mit Coronaregeln hat das nichts mehrstufig tun. Wer große Portionen zu „günstigen“ Schweizer Preisen sucht und keinen Wert auf Geschmack und Qualität legt, sollte hier buchen. Alle anderen sollten ein anderes Restaurant wählen."

"The place is quite dated - 1970's? Decor is throughout fairly dire.But who cares? The staff are really nice, very helpful and friendly; the location (right beside the train to Zermatt) excellent, the skiroom access to he station brilliant as is the free parking.We loved the restaurant! It's not fancy but the food and wine are great, service great and it is really good value. They'll cook you what you want! We were fed up with stodgy starchy stuff by the time we got there and they happily substituted pasta/potatoes with absolutely fantastically well cooked and varied vegetables. Pak Choi, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, heritage carrots. brilliant.Why stay in Zermatt when you can stay here? It takes about 20 minutes to get to the centre of Zermatt and must be easier to access the slopes than the far flung parts of Zermatt itself. This place is a gem. And the internet works."
