"The star restaurant »Alois« (Dallmayr Fine Dining) is not to be confused with the »Cafe-Bistro Dallmayr« or the »Dallmayr Bar Grill«. Here some reviewers seem to have confused the location. Dallmayr does not seem to care. In branding and social media there is probably a little need for repeating. We had the 6-course menu in the restaurant "Alois". Making one of the courses “meatless” (we do not eat meat, but fish) proved to be difficult: that is what we had to communicate when booking. In view of the inventory of the Dallmayr house, this is somewhat strange, because many other star houses always have a vegetarian gang (or a fish walk) as an alternative in the repertoire. In the end, we then got a gang where – according to the service power – the meat was simply omitted. This resulted in the lack of the passage of substance. In another gear, the Perigord truffles were almost tasteless. Imperial caviar was processed in three of the six corridors. This may seem expensive and luxurious, but in the accumulation this is not particularly creative. At the fish dish, the caviar contested the taste almost alone. Weak. We chose the “individual” wine tasting (96 € per person), instead of the rarities from the wine cellar (180 € per person). When ordering, we were again personally referred to a higher-quality (more expensive) wine tasting. So good marketing? It gave us an ungood feeling not to be optimally served with the standard wine tasting. We still stayed with the not so high-quality version – and were not disappointed. Rarely we have been serving such matching wines, which have developed again in combination with the dish. The service was professional and unscrupulous, as well as consistently attentive and friendly. All in all, the evening at the Alois Dallmayr was a very nice experience. For a restaurant with 2 Michelin stars there is still air up. Of us satisfied 4 Google stars."
