Had lunch in the Alderley Restaurant at Alderley Edge recently. The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was very light and pleasant. I would definitely go again.

Yes ! fathers day, a lovely day. He really enoyed the food , a bit greasy for me, I had the Haloumi wine was very expensive too. But all good service was exellent. The children loved it too. Would recommend especially because there was sport on the Tv screeens !!!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel in room 27, which offered a stunning view of the garden. Although the room was a bit small, it was impeccably clean and had a modern design. We enjoyed the shower, even though there was no bathtub. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

We visited the Alderley Restaurant in Alderley Edge to celebrate our daughters' birthday. Unfortunately, the service did not meet the usual high standards we've come to expect. While the presentation of the Sunday roast beef was impressive, the quality of the food itself was disappointing and fell short of its typical excellence.

We took my mum here for lunch on her 60th birthday. It was a lovely setting in the conservatory so nice and bright. The service was very good waiters were attentive without being too over bearing. Food was excellent superbly presented. The toliets are a little outdated and we were by far the youngest people in the restaurant (but it was a Tuesday lunchtime I suppose! Overall a great outing!

We arrived slightly late because of traffic problems, but our meal was served in no time at all important because we were going on to the theatre. Our food was excellent, served in a very courteous manner, and we would certainly visit Pennyblacks again. Perhaps not on early on a Friday night though, as the bar was extremely busy and very noisy. Good value, no nonsense food with excellent service.

The tasting menu was wonderful, fantastic flavours, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and superb value, especially when compared to the fairly mediocre food offered by other local restaurants at similar if not higher prices. This is definitely a top rate restaurant in terms of food. The only let down was the room and bar, both of which lacked atmosphere and character the bar especially seemed more suited to commercial travellers than would be gourmets!

Pennyblacks in Birmingham serves good quality food but probably not worth the price tag it goes with. I would revisit for drinks as the bar was well stocked with a good range of sprits but would eat elsewhere. The only other problem was that the waitress who seated us didn't have our reservation. When I told her it was through Toptable she advised me they don't use the website. Showed her the confirmation I had but feel that we only got the table as we went early and there was space.
