The best pizza I have ever eaten! Also the pasta’s from ‘la mama’ are delicious, especially the Linguine allo scolio. Kind staff who speak French and English.

Four of our group arrived late Friday for our stay in the Borgia Castle...too late to eat there so we went down the road to the Hotel Gabbiano restaurant. We were well treated and the staff went out of their way to serve us despite the late hour. While the food was average, we were well pleased with our treatment.

The food is superb. Staying at the hotel this is ideal. The pasta is fresh, the lamb chops are amazing!! We are a family of 4, we drank, ate and had a dessert each with a bottle of Prosecco €80. My opinion good value for a really well cooked meal. Empty plates from the kids is a testimony to the quality of the food.

At €25 pp including wine, I wasn’t sure what to expect for Christmas Day lunch. From the second we walked in Gianni and his team were a delight! The food was delicious, homely and tasty. We were super pleased we randomly ended up here...by the time we left the place was packed, by what mostly seemed to be locals. They clearly knew they were onto a good thing. From the antipasti to the broth with tortellini, the veal that was literally falling apart...the mixture of desserts and the most delectable tiramisu....yummy!!! We noticed that there were reviews just for the restaurant, (we stay at the hotel and eat here), so allow us to add our suggestions. This is an old fashioned place that attracts Italians who want genuine Umbrian cooking. Fresh vegetables, lake fish, roasted meats and most things you'd find in an Umbria cook book translated into English. The Hotel has an air conditioned dining room and a pleasant open air veranda where in the season, you can eat surrounded by pots of flowering plants. When their pizzeria, open each evening, gets crowded with local families, we like to dine on the veranda in the evening.
