"The bad news: La Robe was sold about a year ago and no longer features wine by women wine makers. The good news: We had excellent dinners in a pleasant modern (vaguely Southern Californian) setting with efficient service. For an 18 euro set meal, two of us had an enormous mixed grill, and two of us had maigre (sea bass) that was one of the most delicious fish of our lifetimes. Haricots verts wrapped in bacon, salad with cheese, nougat ice cream with strawberry coulis. We added an inexpensive bottle of Ch. Laduc Bordeaux Superieur ("value for money"), 75% sauvignon, 25% semillon. In fact, the whole meal was "value for money." We staggered outside to see the unobstructed view of the quai side promenade action and the lights on the Pont de Pierre. Excellent location between the Grand Theatre and the Esplanade des Quinconces."
