"This is one of those places that surprise you, the outside is as unassuming as you can make it. If I had not been guided by a local, I was sure I would not have found it. Great lunch ambiance, interesting decor. Food is organized by 'plates ', the historical way of eating food that almost nobody follows anymore. And that 's is a sign of how things go around here. We ordered an assortment of local specialties... musseto, trippa, brovada, salami e acceto, and all hit the right notes. We also had a sort of de-constructed-tiramisu dessert that the kids enjoyed very much (no brandy, so good for all ages) If there is something to be said about food in this region of Italy is that food is not designed to appeal to the masses but to give you a hearty well filled stomach so that you dont need to eat much more that day or may even in 2 days. I can certainly confirm that we did not have anything else that day. In short, not food (nor prices) for those with weak stomachs, however it was fantastic, and worth every penny. We will certainly be back whenever we are around."
