"Stayed here for one night for work. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and overall, the staff are all polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms however are underwhelming and a bit shabby. I stayed in room 102, which is right next to the door to access the corridor for the rooms, and was pretty noisy with other guests wandering up and down. You're also directly beside reception, so when people are stood outside smoking and chatting, that is all you can hear. Would be nice if reception could monitor the noise after 10pm and ask smokers to keep the noise down, as I was disturbed more than once. I was also unable to turn the radiator off, turning the valve made no difference. The mirror in the room was dirty and the bathroom was shabby, with drips of paint everywhere and an unfinished edge to the counter where the sink is. The towels were also stained. The food was ok. I had the steak fajitas, with boiled potatoes. The steak came in a sauce that I didnt enjoy. I ordered room service and the plates were delivered with only a spoon and no napkins. I'm not sure how they thought I was going to eat the potatoes, so had to go and ask for a knife and fork. I had had a long day the previous day, been up since 4.30am for a flight and then a full day of work, so had decided to sleep a bit longer, only to be disturbed at 8am by some scraping and banging noises outside of my room window, opened the window to find a man scraping the paint off of the next door window sill outside. When I asked if it was necessary to do that at 8am, he advised it needed to be painted today. I said, I have paid to stay here and am still in bed! He apologised and moved but why would a hotel allow maintenance to start at 8am?! Overall, not worth the £109 paid and would not stay here again."
