"we were about 2 years ago the first time in the taverne xenios to eat. well that we were not alone there, so the disappointment about eating was great, but we did not let the fun spoil. The salat dry, as if he had been prepared for hours on the tellers, the gyros juiced before fat and the pommes were pappy. everything in all no good food, neither for the eye, nor for the palate. However, the service was funny, so that we had at least a lot of fun on the evening. Nevertheless, our friends and we agreed that we don't need a second time.Ca 2 years later we heard again and again, we would be good and tasty in said local and also passing by, we saw how well visited it is there. So we had to give the restaurant a 2nd chance. on a Sunday evening it was so far. the expectation was not great, but we hoped to be pleasantly surprised. The first thing we noticed was the unpleasant noise. it actually sounded like in a large railway station, although not so many guests were there. it was loud and uncomfortable. We had a place in the middle of the local. there is attached around the tables such a fence. the waiter served us all the time over the cheerful and often quite next to us in passing. that seemed very unfriendly. Feeling comfortable and being welcome, as one expects to be hospitable, did not come up at all. the food was quite sweet. I have to say it was better than 2 years ago, meaning the pommes were no longer mushy and the gyros was ok. the salate was as little projecting as the last time. more but not. in some Greek snacks I get a much better food for less money. there will not be any attempt, for this we are too important a nice evening with good eating in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere."

"On Saturday it turned out once again that we had to eat out-handed, at home there was a garden party of the son and there are present parents “peinlich”. A little late with booking and with the restriction “we want to sit outside” the first two reservation attempts proved to be riveting everything complet. The third attempt was then successful. After I had put the restaurant La Grappa in Schwelm on my list anyway, and a colleague of critics had warmed my heart, it was by no means an emergency solution. Parking in front of the front door is not possible, as the place is located in the pedestrian area of the Schwelmer Old Town, beautifully surrounded by old slew timbered half-timbered houses. You can choose more in the Bergisches Land than in the Westphalian – at least I was unknown how beautiful the Schwelmer Altstadt is. Here and there are locals that offer outdoor gastronomy, all quite tranquil and quiet. The La Grappa is also located in an old workshop. The La Grappa has no outdoor gastronomy, which I had actually expected, but a courtyard with a conservatory, whose roof can be opened and offers approx. 30 people place. The terrace with outer walls of broken stone, terracotta-coloured mosaic floor, the tables beautifully covered, folded fabric napkins, wind lights, comfortable chairs with red and orange thick seat and backrest cushion. We were assigned a covered four table. Cards were taken and the one who answered the question of drinks with a bottle of mineral water first, and other drinks would be ordered when we chose the dishes. Pellegrino was brought 5 €. The maps of the presentation unfortunately very simple, I don't like any cards made from brochure cases. La Grappa offers the complete cross-section of Italian cuisine. From pizza margherita to steaks to lamb, from spaghetti to hump grapes to seaweed, everything is offered, rich product variety. I would have expected a smaller selection of dishes and no pizzas, but this is due to the fact that I did not know before. We chose Antipasto Misto 6 € as an appetizer, an Insalata Mista 4.30 €. For the main foods we have had some time out because of the map unknown to us and quite extensive to which there were also daily recommendations on a slate table. Finally we decided to use an Insalata Grappa with grilled salmon 9 € and a plate with various grilled fish 21 €. There were problems with the wine. As an open wine, house wine was white and red, the glass was offered 0.2 to 4.40, the demand that white was a Pinot Grigio. On my question, what bottle wines have been told to me, there is only the Pinot Grigio??. Well, then it should be this, no mistake, dry, pleasant acidity, a typical representative of its kind. When leaving the restaurant, we later passed a wine refrigerator with various white wines, there was a misunderstanding, the waiter probably meant open wines. (However, there would also be a wider selection nice For there were banana wheat on the neighboring table to pizza that shakes me now The greeting from the kitchen consisted of pizza rolls with a tasty Mayonaise spread which was brought together with the water, the appetizers came shortly later. Antipasti consisting of grilled vegetables, mushrooms, tomatoes, mozzarella ham and salami, as far as right, but the whole thing floats in oil and beyond it would have been nice if some bread had been served. Salad with various leaf salads, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots on a Vinaigrette. Here it would have been nice if oil and vinegar had been added, a pepper mill was served on request. The salad was fresh and crisp. The waiting period for the main courts was a bit too short, but probably also due to the fact that it was quite empty for a Saturday night. In the meantime, I was asked if I would rather like vegetables to fish, instead of salad, as I already had them as an appetizer. Attention! As it should be said, the service was very professional. Salad with the same components and dressing as the appetizer salad, with 6 pieces of grilled salmon for my wife a sufficient portion was praised. The fish plate, 2 fish fillets, squid, gambas, a Langostino, potatoes and colorful vegetables – I call it a mess, neat garlic and olive oil, both a little too abundant, garnished with lemon and herbal branches (photo . 2 espresso, these black and good 1,80 € formed the finish. From the house there were 2 (too sweet Grappa. Conclusion: An Italian for every day with a very wide and inexpensive offer, here everyone finds something for themselves. Nice, attentive service, pleasant ambience in the winter garden. On the inside I can't say much here, it seemed to me a little dark, but it wasn't illuminated even by lack of guests. I'd rather have it if I'm already stuck by the restaurant choice, pizzeria or more upscale menu, but that's my personal feeling. All in all almost one (then something rounded up for more is missing from the special. However, as always, a snapshot that is strongly dependent on personal expectations and the classification into a self-creating valuation canon and the question where and how to sort the restaurant. In this case, rather than pizzeria or as a nobelitaly? Accordingly, a star rating is to be adjusted. Since the center of the map is rather on meat and fish dishes, the place has to be measured there. I decided to evaluate here the overall impression (not the individual areas as our colleague “kgsbus” according to the scheme of kitchen travel. This review background is solved by a restaurant classification. This can apply to both a star place and a pizzeria or a snack. I think that's fair, every restaurant category will be fair, and I'd find it nice if other friends would join it and this would prevail for the overall impression here. Overall impression: 3 – if it results again (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – definitely back to kitchen trip"

"for years we have been visiting the ironworks again and again.I fear that we will not do this in the future. To take a rumpsteak 30 euro is easy to exaggerate. we are willing to spend appropriate money for good performance. in the map is not even indicated where the bark originates. Therefore a kartoffel and salat is simply not up to datealso the appetizers absolutely infallibly and overpriced. The salat also had a much too heavy sauce. a tastefully better and lighter dressing would have done it too.The steaks were delicious, but did not correspond to the ordered garpunkt. because the waiters came back to the table only after eating, we could not give any criticism. The service was extremely bad. we were asked to drink too rarely. also the question whether eating tastes, was not asked. We had to complain about a missing beer 3 times. the people seemed to be absolutely overwhelmed by the exercise of their profession. there is also no clear structure or someone who has an eye for all customers to be properly serviced. And yet an extremely negative note: the toilets were extremely dirty and really disgusting. Something like that must not happen. Apparently there has not been cleaned there for days.We left this evening with our friends over 500 euro in the restaurant and despite the bad service still a good drink money. Unfortunately, it didn't even think anyone needed to say goodbye to us. we were really disappointed and have to advise other customers about a visit."
