"Rather, we wanted to escape primarily corrosive and extremely annoying Baularm in our near environment for some time. For almost four weeks, an apartment has been renovated and refurbished among us. The concrete ceilings between the apartments contribute to the fact that the craftsmanship sounds from the volume as if our own bathroom was torn out. with the Sankt Wendeler Felsenmühle, she had not only set the escape destination, but also ordered a table there for 13:30. Unfortunately, it then looked so at the bottom that we were not spared even when eating in the rock mill by loudly strong craftsmen. In the outskirts of the mill, a Rüttler and a front loader did everything in their power to spare us the stay and lunch as thoroughly as possible. I think that the sound level caused by the esteemed GG colleague Petra IO in her rock mills report would have been better than the construction site noise due to high levels of guests; The ambience of the various guest rooms ranges from original to industrial design; we had a table in the original area and I forgive three and a half stars. A structural update could for me be the wet area for men; it was clean, but it was also quite inhabited. According to my treasure, the wet area ladies have also been clean. Service: First of all a lady looked after us: not excessively friendly, not excessively flotted, not excessively attentive and not excessively familiar with the contents of the menus; overall rather indifferent. From the moment she was sitting in front of the tress, the situation improved. A younger Asian looking man took over; the service thought was much more familiar, which was of course pleased to us as guests. We had more attention and also had the opportunity to talk briefly with him several times. Two stars for the lady and four stars for the Lord in the field of service together give three stars (2 4 6:2 3 . As I have heard from comments, this formula is not correct; how about 2 4 6 instead and this result divided by 2? Eating and drinking: We had already informed ourselves at home via Internet and the Rock Mill HP about what kitchen and cellar offer. My treasure had even chosen a dish: the potato soup with cherry pancakes. for that we were one day too early. It would have been the morning meal; dasa today were fillings with bacon cream sauce and sauerkraut for EUR 9,50. So something else had to be done, both we ordered the beef broth with beef and Julienne vegetables for EUR 5,40 each. Madame took the Rumpsteak Madagascar with Pommes Frites (EUR 22,90 ; I chose the devil medallions; three pork fillet medallions doubled with chilibacon in pikanter sauce with Pommes frites for EUR 16,90. When Dessert had ordered my most beloved Crême Brûlée; This was no longer possible according to the kitchen (for whatever reasons, Pannacotta was offered with fruits at the price of EUR 6.90. This was accepted and I took a Williams Gold (2cl EUR 3.50 as a dessert. We drank a swollen mineral water (EUR 2.40 and a Franciscan wheat from the barrel (EUR 0.5l 4.40). Among the few open wines I had unfortunately not found that for mch passing; a pity. We were very happy both with the soup and with the main dishes. My wife had ordered the Rumpsteak medium; it came medium rare, which was not a leg break. The meat quality was excellent, the steak was very well cut and the pommes were very nice crispy. There was nothing to complain about my diabolical medallions; they were still beautiful pink inside. The sauce announced as a picant was witty pikant; I would have been happy if I had not only a strip of Chilibacon but one per medallion, i.e. a total of three on the plate. I was happy with the Pannacotta, and I was happy with the Williams Gold. Conclusion: The stay in the rock mill would have liked us even better without the building site noises! It's good to see you again."

"The faithful GastroGuide writers surely remember the “Saarschmecker”. Mr Saarschmecker and Mrs Saarschmecker are still very pleased, unfortunately the esteemed colleague has retired in writing. More important is: Our personal contact is excellent and good food must not be missed! A few weeks ago, Mr Saarschmecker demonstrated: He cooks excellently – sometimes a Saarland private date. Before this private meeting, however, the Saarschmecker proposed an evening at Haus Gudesberg. We picked him and his wife at home and went on the way to the restaurant. This is slightly increased in the sole position at the edge of Saint Wendel. . You don't need to hope for running, but it is highly recommended! Parking is free of charge directly at the house. On the left of the house there is a beautiful beer garden. And right at the restaurant there is probably the most beautiful view of St. Wendel! The first enjoyment of the evening. Inside we were warmly welcomed by the owner Jens Wittwer. The Saarschmeckers are known here. The restaurant was already very well visited. A beautifully covered table with white table cloths on the window, . with St. Wendel View, was reserved for us. View of St. Wendel And the fragrances from the kitchen increased expectations. The maps were handed over and the separate map “our summer specials”. The guest has “the torment of choice” and indeed the decision was extremely difficult. We were able to browse the map in peace. In the meantime, the drinks were taken up. In service now exclusively generational men. All professional, attentive and very friendly. 1 bottle of mineral water, 0.75 l € 5,90. My husband and I chose the dry Pinot from the Palatinate. 0.2 l € 6,00. A good choice, unfortunately the winery on the wine map was not mentioned. The waiting period was bridged with a fine aromatic olive grove with fresh bread as a greeting from the kitchen. Greetings in advance: Olivetapenade and Bread Thumbs high! As an appetizer we chose the salad Gamba colourful salads with 5 grilled Gambas and Rucola Pesto € 13.90. I was very pleased that the number of Gambas is mentioned on the map. 5 Gambas as an appetizer, 7 Gambas as main food. The guest is informed. At the order, the conversation somehow came to garlic and present garlic lovers. So our salad plates were served with a glass of garlic in olive oil, which found joyous pickers. Salad Gamba Set garlic The salad was well sized as an appetizer, crunchy fresh, cleanly powdered. Very good dressing. The shrimps perfectly fried. Bread was added to the salad. Separate paths to the main course. For my husband: Fried zanderfilet on ratatouille, with band noodles (exchanged in roast potatoes) and white wine sauce € 20,50 For me, after long thought, sometimes pig. Here, Chef Jens gave the decisive hint: The meat is obtained from a small pig mast with free-land holding in Blieskastel. Duo vom Duroc Schwein: Grilled Carée and with pepper honey crust gratinated neck steak, thyme jus, butter-swung roast potatoes € 17,90. Our main dishes were served simultaneously on well preheated plates. My husband was very satisfied with the juicy fried zanderfilet (in original more appealing than photographed). Fried zander fillet on ratatouille The ratatouille very well seasoned. The nicely browned roasted potatoes were served separately. My pork? First class! I can't say what convinced me more on the plate. Both, Carée and Steak, was perfectly juicy roasted, buttery, discreet but very well seasoned. Duo from the Duroc pig duo from the Duroc pig in the cut The excellent meat taste is not overlaid. The thyme full of aromas, very harmonious with meat. The cubed roast potatoes with exactly the right roasted aromas. An evening to feel good and enjoy. There was another nice personal conversation with the owner and we could only confirm our satisfaction. Finally an espresso € 2,50. We were warmly approved by Mr Wittwer and Team and will certainly be very happy to come back!Blick on St. Wendel"

"nationwide makes herr kunz advertising with his michelin star for the "restaurant kunz". we received a advertisement from him for a "surprise menu in 5 courses" in the "restaurant kunz" and therefore four times the 50 km from saarbrücken to blew.Welch a disappointment: in the "star restaurant paper table cloths? brotteller to (absolutely great fresh cornbrot with butter, fleur de sel and schmalz) only on a true, but almost cold carrot soup. 2. gang a piece of fried makrele, quite dry, as this cheap fish hold is, but the least the beurre blanc was perfect for it..3. floor: a small egg with banana pieces. dry, i.e. a small white rhum odder gin would have done well to the ice. but to describe it as a gang, is already very questionable!4 gang 3 pieces of barbary duck breast, of the brat duration just at the rande of the acceptable but with large, non-essable overlapping skin edges. weed and red herb; a typical winter dinner on this beautiful spring day in April.Last walk a three-part dessert, served ini cheap Ikea glasses: a small egg with chocolate, a crème brulée and a warm moose without a marille. The only really positive in the restaurant kunz was the service by the 3 serving women: super friendly, from these we could also know that there is only one "restaurant kunz" but the michelin star only applies to a small, separate room for which you have to register. but we were also in the restaurant kunz, but stop in the fireplace room, which can only be called bistro (which is however heart kunz not and has led us - and certainly many others before us already - into the wrong; and that is probably in full intention.)But a word to the totally overlaid wine prices in this bistro: for a glass 0.1 l crémant d’alsace paid that was the only one comparable to a star restaurant."

"The Balduinkeller belongs next to the Magdalenkapelle and the Gasthof zum Ochsen, both in the immediate vicinity, among the most beautiful and rustic restaurants in St. Wendel. The restaurant is located in a historic building from the middle of the 18th century. Century. Century. A tour through the restaurant leads you a few centuries back to the time of the name of the restaurant, the Trier Archbishop Balduin of Luxenburg (1285 – 1354). rupture stone wall, partly rough plastered walls, which the St. Wendeler painter Klaus Riefer painted beautifully. The ambience, as I have already described, can hardly be surpassed by attention to detail and originality. Food The well-sorted menu includes soups, salads, toasts, cold dishes and steaks also classic Saarland kitchens such as filled with bacon cream sauce and sour wort or Lyoner – panties with roast potatoes. Today I chose the Rumpsteak with herbal butter, frits and salad at 16,90€. Add a mineral water to 1,60€ and a Sauvignon blanc 0,2l to 4,50€ and as Verdauerli a Malteser Aquavit to 2,50€. All ingredients were fresh and of perfect quality. The added salad was somewhat sweet, but the steak was perfectly roasted on the point medium, juicy, tender and very tasty. Good 4 stars for the kitchen. Service not always satisfactory, especially if the place is well visited, you must wait for food and drinks for a disproportionately long time. Conclusion: very good grounded cuisine in rustic, stylish ambience. But for larger groups my recommendation: "Reserve a table and above all eat something"."

"in this year, the meet with friends were rough. corona is also the meeting with GastroGuide(Ex?)collars “Saarschmecker” and his dear wife. tonight it should finally be back with the assembly and we picked up the two to house, not without the obligatory crémant (which never goes out in the house of saarschmecker). further in the beautiful city st. rend. the “Saarschmecker” has already reported several times about the good kitchen of la wendel (for this name I certainly not only think about the gastroguide kollegin lavandula). some time ago there was a change of the farmer or a change of the kitchen line. Since then, saarschmeckers are here and reserved our table for this evening. local our guides led us to the destination and to a nearby parking lot. the restaurant is located in the middle of the center, but something hidden. on this beautiful autumn evening we were not unhappy that it was a bit calmer in la wendel than in the “Hotspots”. we were kindly greeted by a young lady. in the rustic and cozy beer garden we have a protected and covered place. this place was perfect for a cozy evening. rustic beer garden we let ourselves down and the diners and soak leaves were served. the leaves certainly owed the Corona editions, but the multiple use was clear to them. we concentrated on the very diverse and well thought-out dishes offered. not overloaded, but the decision between current weekly dressings (e.g. fresh whispers), large salates, pasta and meat dishes really fell hard. in the meantime the employee accepted our drinks. we were in the crémant d’Alsace brut, white € 4,20 0.1 l and crémant de loire brut, rosé € 4,50 0.1 l as aperitif. 1 bottle teinacher mineral water € 5,50 – 0,75 l was also ordered. the cool drinks were served a little later and our other wishes were observed. as a small appetizer my man and I ever ordered an add-on salad – € 3.00. on request with vinegar oil dressing. my man chose the “Wiener Art” carving of eifeler landschwein with pommes frites 14,80 €. I could not resist pasta again, and it was offered by the saarland pasta factory. so for me: fresh spaghetti with summer truffle white truffle sauce € 17,80. and as a non vegetarian “upgrade” on it: garnelen garlauch € 5,50 at the main course there was still a glass wine. 1 dry grey burgundy, mill weingut, kallstadt pfalz – 0,2 l € 6,20 1 dry riesling, m. keth weingut, offstein pfalz – 0.1 l € 3,30 the kitchen sent fresh baguette and crumbled gurke to bridge the hunger. herb quart and baguette 6 slices brot – 4 people. 1 small glass. you don't dare to access it. on the side was greeted with 2 persons with the same amount. it's just not well thought out. fortunately there was no dispute with us. with a second greeting we really did not believe here and were all the more surprised. beans were served per person in a spicy tomato sauce with thun-fish cream. gruß: bohnen mit thunfischcreme und brot add to the offer again! later, our deliciously fresh by-products were served. addition salad unfortunately not very well mixed with the dressing and in a bowl with a high edge. it is difficult to mix with the rather acidic dressing. when eating the salat it automatically came to a delay. to avoid salat sprays on hot and bluse. with enthusiastic talks the time went to our most important food in the flight. juicy and golden yellow roasted pork carving for my man. “Wientyp” with pork. but also saarland: the meat in the saarland never serves too thin! carving from the eifeler swath also the panad without the airiness of the original. that didn't bother, because the meat was wonderfully tender, tastefully flawless and juicy roasted. the pommes simple, crispy and good. the fresh pasta with freshly planned truffle reached me in the deep plate. fresh spaghetti with truffles unfortunately the spaghetti were far from “al dente”. rather “made good”. very bad. they swung in the thin cream “soup”. that was still tasty, but for the price it called it was far from my expectations. especially since the truffle taste was quite good. when the service employee asks if everything tastes, I answered the points. they were apologised. on the other hand, the juicy garnels were stained again tastefully with molten cherry tomato in the separate bowl. garnelen with tomaten the carving part did not mean completely. he was happy to pack the second carving. the pretty “Henkelmann” came with the ordered bill. the honkelmann that was a beautiful and social evening. the interiors are also very cozy. cozy interior wc in the ground floor, everything very well maintained. our companions were sure that the cook was not in the house tonight. so perhaps the suboptimal pasta. a friendly and well-maintained house with varied oriented. I want to make a recommendation. ."

"Before the summer comes out of the dust, I'm looking for one of my favorite retreats in St. Wendel: The Angel's Golf Hotel. Years ago, because I was looking for a nice beer garden for the festival, I also give a culinary commitment after this new visit. At Angel's Golfhotel you can experience a solid, if not ambitious kitchen performance. And leave the golf club at home. As a professional Ireland and Scotland traveler, I am attracted by rich and juicy meadows. Like last Sunday. When looking through the huge glass elements of the restaurant on the endless green, holiday mood and/or far-weh arise. I always feel that way when I go to the angel. The light-flooded rooms make their part. Small bistrotic tables with heavy white table linen give a first statement. Angels welcomes the guest (from St. Wendel, from Saarbrücken and how I can hear the neighboring table from New Zealand! wherever he can come. The fact that the restaurant only comes indirectly on other portals does not seem so much to me on Sunday. The current menu is again absolutely at the level of time. As appetizers impress two scallops between heaven and earth, or the vegetable beef fillet carpaccio with mustard vinaigrette next to the ratatouille spice with pesto. As a main course, fishing offers the lamb spider with thyme honey crust on young peas and potatoes Rucola puree or the juicy lemon horn with Provencal vegetables and rosemary spices. In addition, three fish dishes make the zanderfilet with Kalamata crown crust and Peperonata and the roasted sea bass on oranges Fenchelrisotto appetite! We choose the lemon hay (17, Euro and the US Black Angus Flank Steak, which was offered for the first time on the map, 225 gr heavy with vegetables and rosemary apples for 21. Euro. As an entry I take a small salad if you should ever read this, the far-reaching consequences for me can mean the shells, along with potato puree and blood sausage for 14, euros. From the well-stocked wine list we order a Pinot Blanc from the Palatinate (0.2 for 4 Euro). At the entrance there is an average quality bread and herbs cucumber. Then follow the appetizers. My little appetizer salad for 3.50 Euro consists of head, field and rocket with a light cream dressing ok made! The heaven and earth variant makes them more visually. On an oval plate a beautiful allye portion of pure, above it the earth (two slices of fried blood sausage with a large hood of thinly frit onions and above on two wonderfully glazed scalings. A single look into my accompaniment is enough to see that the cook has done a whole job here. We expect the most important foods. I get four wonderfully soft boiled slices of chicken breast aromatic to lemon and thyme fragrant on an optimally lubricated vegetables Routing red wine, rosemary and a hint of garlic. Little rosemary apples. The main course of my accompaniment obviously has the nose on the front: five neat tranches Flank Steak, medium cooked, separated a bowl of vegetables in butter, and here also the rosemary apples. The meat of delicate consistency, flavoured only with sea salt and pepper, does not need it! Conclusion: The short-term golf excursion was once again a real culinary success!"
