"We stayed as part of a hotel block for a wedding. Price was reasonable but if you don’t do your due diligence, be noted it’s about a 45$ ride to Edinburgh if you want to visit each way. Also all shopping and restaurants in the area close by 8 9pm. The hotel greeted us warmly but overall we felt it was average in service and cleanliness. Trashcan was still full in our bathroom on check in. Reservations for our taxis departure shuttle were lost so we had to follow up on all trips to ensure our transportation was set. The rooms are dark and with poor lighting if you are a makeup getting ready girlie. I struggled with the lighting to get ready for the wedding. Also it’s warm. Air only circulates when the key is in a holder so the room never really cooled and we had to pop windows open. Did it work for this trip? Sure. Would I go back? Likely not"

"Came to the plough with my family today for a carvery and we sat down to eat the table was ready on arrival the food was amazing. Not many carverys have like sprouts and roasted parsnips mashed carrots but this one did. The chef was amazing always cracking the jokes livening the place up and I can honestly say what a nice man he was lovely with my 3 year old little girl and 2 year old nephew. They loved him they had enough of there food didn’t eat much as kids do... and the chef came over and got them to have a few more spoon fulls for some ice cream which I had great respect for lovely homey family pub! Will be definitely going again!"

"Amazing food from start to finish, waitress was very nice and waited on us hand and foot to anything we needed the pub was quite when we where there. I did think it would be busier for the food quality they are serving up but it's a bit out of the way. We will be back 100% Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3"
