"Usually great but a few issues this time round. Firstly, I'd say the staff are great; attentive given the amount of tasks they're trying to undertake at the same time as serving customers but... I booked via resdiary for 7pm. At 1755, I received an email saying my booking had been changed to 1830. No explanation why, fortunately, I didn't have other plans but changing a booking with this little notice really isn't on. Especially given upon arrival, no one knew why it had been changed. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly and ordered starters followed by 2 steaks. One cooked well done, one , medium to well. The well done steak arrived and was cooked medium at best and had to be sent back. My medium steak was well-done, although to be fair, I didn't complain as we'd already sent one back. When you're paying a £12 supplement for a steak , you would think it should be cooked the way you've asked for it . We then ordered 2 x Eton mess deserts and received what I think was 2 Strawberry Sundaes. I put this down to an error on behalf of the server and again, I didn't complain. I didn't want to be one of those people that complained about every part of their meal, but I was probably justified if I had done so. To be fair, the staff acted quickly to rectify the undercooked steak but we couldn't help but feel underwhelmed when we left spending nearly £100 for our Sunday dinner given the issues we'd had. Usually DL park is our first port of call for a night out treat but this has made me think it's time to try somewhere else."

"I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Toby Carvers, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The customer service was beyond atrocious, and it's clear that the staff couldn't care less about the satisfaction of their patrons. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with indifference by the host, who seemed more interested in chatting with their co-workers than actually acknowledging my presence. It took an eternity to be seated, and even then, it was in a dingy corner where the lighting was practically nonexistent. As if the lackluster service wasn't enough, the state of the plates was absolutely repugnant. I noticed dirt and food remnants stuck to my plate as soon as it was placed in front of me. It was as if the previous diner had used it as a napkin and the staff couldn't be bothered to clean it properly. Disgusting! Naturally, I politely raised my concern to the server, hoping that they would rectify the situation promptly. However, my complaint fell on deaf ears. The server simply shrugged their shoulders and walked away without offering an apology or attempting to address the issue. It was a blatant display of disrespect towards paying customers. To add insult to injury, the entire dining area was unkempt and dirty. Crumbs littered the floor, and the tables were sticky and unclean. It was evident that hygiene was not a priority for Toby Carvers, and the overall atmosphere was far from inviting. I must say, it takes a special kind of incompetence to let a restaurant deteriorate to such an abysmal state. Toby Carvers has clearly failed in providing even the most basic standards of customer service and cleanliness. I strongly advise anyone considering dining there to look elsewhere, unless they enjoy being treated poorly and dining amidst filth."
