"This restaurant is almost on our doorstep, but whenever we eat out we seem to get in the car and go somewhere else …We’ve been here a couple of times before and have always enjoyed our meal but, as we’ve been with other people, the good company somewhat overshadowed the meal. However, tonight, my wife and I went on our own (it was Saturday night after all). The restaurant has been in the same family since 1999, and they do not seem to be resting on their laurels. It’s on the main road between Grasse and Draguignan, down in the plain from Montauroux itself, and in an area which has seen commerces spring up, a little like an industrial estate. However, it is set back from the road, with plenty of parking in front, and the outside terrace dining area at the back is an oasis of calm and shade on a balmy evening like tonight. No mosquitoes either!Evening menus are at 28€ for starter/main/dessert (or 22€ for 2 of the three) or 48€ (if I remember correctly). Frankly the 28€ menu had all we wanted and our meals were well cooked, well-presented and very tasty. I loved the Gratin Niçois – a little like a ratatouille. We had previously looked at the menu on the website and were a little disappointed that the apple tart we fancied for dessert appeared not to be on the menu tonight. “No problem” said our host – and lovely, freshly-baked individual tarts were served …The wine list has many local wines (a plus point in my book) with local Provence wines in pichets and/or half bottles which is somewhat rare these days and great if only one of you is drinking. (The 50cl Châterau de Selves I had was good value at 12€ – a nice slightly spicey taste from the mix of Syrah, Cab Sauv & Merlot.)76€ for apéros, meal and wine for 2 had me leaving the place with a warm glow. I think we’ll be going back there again whenever we can find the excuse …"

"Stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant by accident, during our visit to Montauroux in June 2017. A difficult to impress frontage, looked welcoming, and offered on a board some recommendations. I put my head round the door, and was welcomed by a beautiful young lady waitress, with a natural welcoming smile. My French was as small as her English, but we soon established they sold Chardonnay, which is the green light for my wife Jane, to sit down and enjoy. The internal decor was modern, and fresh and bright. Not mentioned in many reviews, but so important to us, was the toilet condition, often poor in many countries. Wow, Wow, Spotlessly clean, modern, home from home. Yippee!! As we were accompanied by our life partner Westie, called Sunshine, we decided to eat at the tables over the road opposite the restaurant. As we sat, a very well dressed, elegant lady arrived, who we rightly identified as the owner. You could feel the sense of pride, as she entered her establishment to join forces with her daughter for the evening. My wife chose what sounds boring, but I assure you was the best tomato and partisan salad she had ever tasted. I went for the "Whilst in France" option, of escargot, which was hot and delicious, and Fresh. Mains, the wife had Spicey COD, cooked to perfection, accompanied by the best rice we have ever tasted, judging against the Orient, Thailand etc. I had pork steak, with a raspberry twist, which was beautiful, and different, and perfectly cooked. We finished off with an assiette of cheese, accompanied with Santana's, honey, and sesame seeds, Superb. What a great find by accident. Make sure when you visit Montayroux, or the South of France, you MUST pay this family run, Restaurant a visit."
