"we came by chance over this restaurant at a busy lunchtime while we went through melle. we decided to sit in the outer bistro part (the inner part is the right restaurant) as it enabled us to overlook the street and observe the people. The...whole place was cuddly, warm and cozy with a lot of atmosphere. it was a pleasant change to find a place full of people who chat with each other. the service was a little slow, but that was understandable because it was pretty busy. it seemed that there were only two waiting employees to serve several tables in a hectic time of the day, but when they appeared, the waiters were helpful and attentive. we had ordered plat du jour, which was steak in a pfeffer sauce, but unfortunately they had run out of steaks so that we were offered a boeuf bourgignone alternative that was very good. the bark was perfectly cooked and of high quality. our meal was accompanied by a carafe from local vendee red, which was a good partner for the bourgignone. very good. next in the opposite we will definitely stop time and enjoy more 'logis' style eating. on another note the whole building was renovated and beautifully decorated and the hotel looks like it's okay."
