"My wife and I visited during a quite lunch time, with two customers downstairs, we went up a level to the balcony area with a very pleasant sea view. Waited around 10 minutes when a waiter arrived, we requested a menu which was met with a blank expression....he left. He returned 5 minutes later, we asked again for a menu, this time he pointed to a sheet nearby with a QR code. Now, we'd seen this, but my phone battery was gone and my wife didn't have a QR scanner on her phone, the reason we'd requested a menu. So, we downloaded a scanner app on my wife's phone and both began to peruse the menu. During this our increasingly agitated waiter appeared again. We ordered two beers while going through the menu on my wife's phone, he sighed, shrugged and left. After about another 10 minutes he appeared with the beers. There were only two other customers on the upper level and we were struggling to understand the service or lack of it. While having our beers, he came back and informed us if we were only having a drink we would have to move down and outside to the yard downstairs (picture attached) He continued to give us a lecture about how busy the place is (still, only two other customers) which is when we realised this wasn't going to be the place for us. We're an easy going couple and loved everything about La Dequesa, but suitably chastised after our lecture, we finished our drinks in the yard, left shaking our heads, completely bemused at the whole experience. I've been in Retail Sales for over 40 years, so I understand the pressures of dealing with the public and the challenges of Customer Service. I can only presume the guy in question was having a bad day and we just happened to get the brunt of his frustrations. In the interests of balance, the menu did look interesting, the two beers were chilled perfectly and the balcony view is fab. I'll definitely re-visit La Dequesa but will skip past Delfines onto the better experience restaurants just up the road ......"

"We started to go to Las Brasas weekly last Autumn after our choir rehearsal moved to a venue nearby. The intention on our first visit was just to have a drink, but after we 'd been seated for a few minutes, the waitress arrived with breakfast bowl sized French fries with a fried egg on the top. For each of us! This was the free tapa which went with the drink. This continued for about 4 weeks, then the free tapa changed to Russian salad, but we were told that we could buy the egg chips for 1.50€. Well, why wouldn 't we? This has continued happily, through various changes of staff, until last week when instead of individual portions, they brought bowls twice the size with 2 eggs. OK, no problem, we 'd share. Then we discovered that the double size costs 5€! Complaints, which escalated to the manager (who wore a t-shirt with the slogan I 'm not anti-social. I 'm anti-stupid , which we thought he would be if he drove us away, as during the non-tourist months he 'd be losing up to 35 customers each week) eventually brought about a compromise. This week, we made sure that we ordered individual portions, but when the bill came, it included Solomillo de cerdo with a whole load of sauces . The staff took some persuading that we had only had drinks and egg chips, but the revised bill escalated the price of the egg chips to 2€, presumably to make up for the solomillo de cerdo that they no longer had anyone to bill for. Some increase in price is to be expected, given how all prices have gone up in the last year, but 33% in one week is a bit steep. One of the problems seems to be the fairly high turnover of staff, which is never a sign of a happily run restaurant. Do not ask for ketchup, mayonnaise, etc as you will be charged 3.50€ for a small dish of the sauce. Or ask for a bowl of chips, as without the egg, the chips cost 3.00€"
