"another good example of a Swiss gastronomy located in the lower end. without focusing on the horrendous prices (pizza prosciuto 25,.-) I can't stop shaking the head just amazingly. I stayed on the occasion of the moon and stars concert in locarno. in the restaurant I wanted to order a pizza prosciuto. I wanted to swirl and garlic. I am apologising for this high-fat wish. the answer of the genervten waiter (miguel) was clipp and clear. the pizza is as on the map. any additions or changes are not possible..I am convinced you have been better served with any other restaurant in locarno.Ruhe in peace Swiss gastronomy and customer friendliness"

"Ich probierte Gyros und Dolmades und sie waren beide sehr lecker!Hausgemachte Dolmades, die im Mund schmolzen und mich an Griechenland erinnerten. . und einer der schmackhaftesten Gyros schmeckte. "A very good menu, we ordered a salmon tartare and a beef tartare, ravioli for two, but I find that 3 pieces of ravioli per person may not be enough. In any case, for me, who is a big eater, I would have appreciated 2 more ravioli. Then my wife had the veal steak and I had the branzini and finally the desserts. The menu is really tasting, the beef tartare with truffle oil is really good. I'm going to try to make the 3 pieces of ravioli with morels at home. I'm still hungry because for a menu at 140. for two I was still hungry. Money is not the problem I already knew the price of the order but I think that like everyone else in this world we like to eat when we are hungry. If the quantities would have been a little more I would have given 4/5 because to have a 5/5 it has to be phenomenal. It was super good but it lacked the magic which would definitely bring you back. I recommend for those who really want a try and see menu but if you are too hungry eat a pizza before ordering. Greetings to the chef"

"A wonderful place full of history! From many suggestions of the hotel, we chose this restaurant for dinner and I strongly recommend you to do the same. I had a table with a superb ceramic top, subtle view of the lake, with a lot of green surroundings, perfect and cozy! The bread basket and the appetizer on the side made a good pair with a Franciacorta. Aperitif, calamari with pistachio cream with mint, olives and burrata was amazing! As a main course, I chose an antricot from Piemonte, along with a Nebbiolo. Very tasty, just the meat was medium+ although I asked medium-rare, next with potatoes and onions hay, was delicious!Quality food and time!"

"Auch unter dem neuen Chef bietet die Küchenbrigade des Vallemaggia eine hervorragende Küche. Qualität und Präsentation der Gerichte können durchaus mit einem Spitzenrestaurant mithalten. Und das sogar mittags, wo man für das 3 Gang Menu lediglich Fr. 23. bezahlt. Der äusserst zarte merluzzo alla mediterranea war ein norwegischer Skrei Kabeljau, welcher auch von vielen Sterneköchen verarbeitet wird. Ansonsten werden aber so weit als möglich Produkte aus der Umgebung verwendet, so etwa das Gemüse für den fantastischen vegetarischen Carpaccio der Vorspeise. Das Dessert, eine Bavarese al mango war hervorragend und selbstverständlich hausgemacht. Lobenswert ist sicher auch, dass Pro Infirmis, die nationale Fachorganisation der privaten Behindertenhilfe, welche das Restaurant betreibt in Küche und Service Behinderte angestellt hat. Alles in allem ein einmaliges Erlebnis und unbedingt empfehlenswert."

"haben uns gefreut, ein indisches vegetarisches Restaurant und haben leider noch Plätze bekommen.Wir Eltern wählten das Menü für 40. , die Kinder wählten Dhal für je 6.50 und Reis für (auch ca. 6.50 plus Chiapatis (für je 2. .Andere Gäste hatten eine sympatische Kellnerin, welche die Gäste informierte, dass sie dann noch mehr bekommen könnten, wir wurden vom Chef bedient , uns wurde das nicht gesagt und wir wurden auch erst wieder beachtet, als wir alles zusammen stellten. Das Dhal war extrem wässerig, das restliche Menü fade und lauwarm.Wir haben noch nie schlechter indisch gegessen. Der Chef vergass die Hälfte vom Dessert.Wir gingen dann sehr schnell und hoffen, dass die sympatische Kellnerin bald einen anderen Job findet.Ein indisches Restaurant wäre eine echte Marktlücke in Locarno."

"3x zu Besuch im Tessin 3x Mittagessen im Bistrot Al Borgo. Das Bistrot ist gemütlich und wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient. Alles, was wir gegessen haben, war sehr fein. "Wir buchten heute wieder einmal bei Enzo! Die Menueempfehlung passte heute perfekt. Ein perfekter Start einem feinen Amuse Bouche (kleine Quiche mit einem warmen Kartoffelsüppli. Dann Thunfischtartar, Jakobsmuschel, Avocadotupfer, garniert mit einem Lachsröllchen als 1. Vorspeise. Zum 2. Gang ein traumhaftes Spargelrisotto. Als Hauptgang Branzino für meine Frau und ein Filetto di Manzo für mich! Dazu genossen wir einen feinen Tessiner Wein „Sassi Grossi“. Ein aufmerksamer Service und ein gewohnt traumhaftes Ambiente machten den Abend zum Erlebnis.Wir kommen sicher bald wieder!"

"Eigentlich wollten wir nur einen Aperitif nehmen, aber die Tartar-Karte hat uns dann angelachtund am Ende haben wir 4 verschiedene Tartar bestellt, 3x Rind und 1x Thunfisch.Alle waren ausgezeichnet, frisch und geschmackvoll.Zudem war unser Kellner Francesco super, aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich, nett aber nicht schleimig.Bei unserer nächsten Reise ins Tessin kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder!"

"we were four and unfortunately had all the terrible hunger, which is why we put ourselves in the next best restaurant. someone of us ordered a green salad to the appetizer. the salat had been eaten halfway, two of the four main courses came, one rindstatar (chf 38.- !!) and one spaghetti bolognese. the bark statue looked like eating. it was clapped on a dish. no brot, no wobble. it had little taste and was probably refined with ketchup. the spaghetti were boiled and tasted as already repeatedly warmed up. the two main courses were almost completely eaten, when the other two main courses were served. a pizza prosciutto e funghi, a pizza ruccola. on the pizza funghi were bush mushrooms. also otherwise the two dishes were maximally suitable to fill the magen. the food was the one catastrophe, the service the other. the waiters were all unfriendly and inattentive. one of them each stepped on my feet under the table when he came to us. there was neither an apology nor that the timing of the various passages was enormously unsatisfactory. this is just a fraction of the negative points in this restaurant, all would blow up the frame."

"Von den vollen Restaurants am See abgeschreckt (Coronavirus) haben wir uns von der Piazza Grande aus umgesehen. Das La Rinasciente haben wir nur per Zufall entdeckt... ein absoluter Glücksfall. Ein gediegener, ruhiger Innenhof in den alten Gemäuern mit genügend Abstand zwischen den Tischen. Der Service exzellent und äusserst aufmerksam, die Karte klein aber oho und die Speisen eine Freude für Augen und Gaumen. Wir haben uns für das Degustationsmenü entschieden. Die Vorspeise, ein Wolfsbarsch Carpaccio, war so zart, dass sie fast auf der Zunge zerging, und neckisch abgeschmeckt mit Passionsfrucht, rosa Pfeffer und Mangomousse. Das Risotto bissfest und sämig, dass Rindsfilet wunschgemäss gebraten und garniert mit einer Valle Maggia Pfeffersauce sowie einer Rucolakruste. Ein absolut gelungener Abend, herzlichen Dank für dieses tolle Erlebnis, wir werden euch wieder besuchen!"

"We have had a fantastic time in Locarno and that is due to Manuel that are working at the Hotel America. We ate dinner two days in the Hotel America restaurant. The first day we ate a pasta and a salad and the second day we ate different pizzas. The pasta was great, but the big highlight was the pizza. The pizza bread, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese was out of the ordinary. The pricing was good for being in Switzerland and the service was really good. We end up in conversation with one of the workers named Manuel and he give us in detail advice on trips on Locarno. So, after his advice we went up to Ponte dei Salti in Valle Verzasca where we hiked and ran for hours and then jumped into the clear, freezing and amazing water. The next advice was to visit the mountain Cimetta di Cardada and we went up by cable car cabin and hiking the last part up to the top. We had a great vacation day with unbelievable views. Sunbathing and swimming in Valle Maggia was the third place Manuel gave us as advice to visit and we had a relaxing day with sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear cold water."

"Liebenswerte Besitzer, sehr feines Essen und gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis! Der gemischte Salat war reichlich und fein. Die hausgemachte Lasagne war vorzüglich und mit 17. sehr günstig. Der Lammrücken mit Gemüse und Rosmarinkartoffeln war delikat. Hahnenwasser gab es gratis dazu. Mein Freund bekam zum Kaffee noch zwei Pralinen kostenlos. Sozusagen als Trösterli, weil er mir beim Panna Cotta essen zuschauen musste! Wir können das Restaurant Reginetta wärmstens empfehlen!"

"I 've been to many Michelin starred restaurants and for me, Locanda Barbarossa stands out among them and is probably closer to a two than a one star place (in the best of ways . I loved the connection to locally sourced ingredients in the Sapori Del Orto menu. Each course was a culinary delight highlight chased highlight. I would like to particularly mention the beautiful interpretation of all things tomato: just an explosion of tomato flavour like I have not tasted before. I will also never forget the candied green walnuts on the risotto with figs and goats cheese (another plate of pure comfort and the confit lake trout with beurre blanc foam, or the veal tartare hidden in a flower of radish. The perfect end to the meal was a wonderfully sweet play on the blackberry, with a caramelized milk panna cotta that was to die for. I also added the foie and the braised beef ravioli to the tasting menu, and both dishes were absolute stand outs as well (the sauce and foam on the ravioli! . Service was very competent and efficient, proficient in all languages and always incredibly helpful with suggestions (and refills of the scrumptious maggia bread! . To boot, the restaurant is beautifully set in the outskirts of Ascona, and I was lucky enough to be able to eat in the garden perfect atmosphere! I really cannot recommend the place enough and hope to be able to return soon!"

Also Pommes, Chickenwings, Hackfleichbällchen (Köttbullar? , Country Potatoes. Aus dem Ofen gibt es Spareribs (30 Minuten Wartezeit, 11.90 und Grillhähnchen (1/2 9,90 . Aus der Mexikanischen Küche gibt es Nachos ab 6.50 und Burritos für 9,90. Pizzen liegen zwischen 10.90 bis 16.90 (Singola und als Maxi bis 29.90. Dessert je 5, Franken, Diverse Packungen mit Tirmisu, etc.Mit gesunder Ernährung oder italienischer Küche hat das nichts zu tun. Die Preise sind für die wenig überzeugende Qualität recht hoch im Vergleich zu den umliegenden Restaurants sind sie wieder günstig."

"Habe gem. Salat und Pizza gegessen. Salat war vieles aus der Büchse Bohnen, Mais, Sellerie, Kürbiskernen), Pizzateig war OK aber nicht knusprig. Pfui dass es so etwas noch gibt in diesem Tourismus Ort. Es kommt mir wie vor 40 Jahren vor, als man so etwas dem dummen Touristen auftischen konnte. Mir scheint viele hier im Tessin haben die Zeit verpasst für einen service orientierten Tourismus zBsp Südtirol liegt weit voraus) das schmerz mich als Schweizer sehr."

"Last saturday 24th of Nov I ve been to Locarno for the weekend with my fiancee and we decided to visit La Barca for a late lunch. I must say amazing experience..a guy welcome us in a such professional and warm way. Great hospitality and the food was exellent. We start with Aperol Spritz and the waiter suggested a plate with ham and cheese to start with, omg was so nice to eat in front of the lake. As the main course we had two Frittura del Golfo and one Grilled Tuna with pistacho..superb. Exellent Service calm and relax atmosphere. If you are looking for a great time in a cool place for a Romantic lunch or Dinner...this is the place. Good Job Angel such a prof and lovely person he took care of us. "We went to locarno for a ride during the holidays that end today. Passing in front of this trattoria a very nice guy seeing that we looked at prices and menus advised us to eat here the square dish (menu of the day) saying that you were eating well. Convinced after a round we returned to eat, beautiful trattoria furnished with very fine goto. We have all taken the recommended square dish, a unique dish divided , zucchini soup, lemon risotto, halibut to Livorno, salad seasoned very well and finally smoothed with melon with port. Congratulations really delicious all with a Pinot gray. very good also the bread .simpaticissima the lady is all the staff but also a plauso to the kitchen. A special thanks to that guy who recommended us the place that I don't know the unique name regret not having done it in person. Thanks to all and compliments I highly recommend trying to who was at locarno or passing them"

"Wir haben uns nach 6 Monaten Corona auf einen Restaurant Besuch gefreut und wurden leider sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten um 20:00 Uhr reserviert und mussten 20 Minuten auf einen Tisch draußen warten der die gesamte Zeit frei war. Danach dauerte es weitere 20 Minuten bis wir Getränke bestellen konnten. Mittlerweile hatten wir uns mit den Gästen am Nachbartisch unterhalte. Die bereits 2 Std warteten. Nachdem wir nach 1 Stunde essen bestellten und nach 1,5 std androhten zu gehen, kam das Essen doch. Ich hatte das Menü des Wochenendes. Mit Kalb. Die Kartoffeln waren kalt, das rind war zäh und die Zucchini hatten keinen Geschmack. Das Dessert kann ich nicht beurteilen da wir vorher gegangen sind. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend zumal wir vorher angemerkt hatten, dass wir zeitlich eingeschränkt sind. Es wurde immer argumentiert dass viele Gäste take away bestellen und abholen. Aber ehrlich... da muss man sich drauf einstellen und nicht die Gäste vor Ort warten lassen."

"In this place everything is in order and clean; as far as I'm concerned, undoubtedly a plus! We ate the focaccia with kebab and the super piadina with felafel!
