At such a busy time, our very large group of 23 were very well looked after, and we were especially impressed with the fact that everyone’s meals were brought out together! "we came here yesterday in a need to need a room, as we were over 200 miles from home. the only room they had left was a bunk bed and we said we would take it and one of us would sleep on the floor as there were 3 of us, then they have us a matratze for the floor. a dame called lesley wilson that we think the managerin would not have been more helpful and we were so grateful for everything lesley and the team have done for us. we also had dinner and breakfast and the food was nice. the hospitality is fantastic and a great place to stay. many thanks for pressing us back. highly recommended."

"Brilliant place for gifts. Also worth getting the horrible histories selection of stuff like we did. Didn't try the cafe so cannot comment personally but did overhear people leaving saying they enjoyed to their meal and went to thank the chef"

"Great little takeaway in the village centre on the high street. Good selection of menu items. Pizzas are made fresh so you have to wait about 15 mins. I also recommend the cheesy fries with chilli sauce added. They open at 1730 so a place for dinner. Lots of folks grab food from here and take it down to the lake edge to eat."
