"Cinnamon Spice. 16 A Emesgate Lane, Silverdale, Carnforth. LA5 0RA Tel: 01524 702117 Date of visit 22 July 2023. Right, I spent the best part of an hour searching round Fleetwood where I had travelled to pick up some fishing bait for a forthcoming fishing trip. Where I searched for a listed Indian restaurant only to discover it did not exist and neither did any others in Fleetwood. Another town with end-of-life syndrome. Boarded up shops Charity shops by the score, Turkish barbers on almost every corner, Nail bars and hairdresser with the odd chippy thrown in! Strangely though, NOTHING open on Saturday evening! Absolutely no interest getting the place sorted out whatsoever! Saturday evening and the place was dead. Even the Kentucky Fried has permanently closed its doors! SAD...So very sad! Anyway, all was not lost because my way back home, I managed to squeeze in a long-awaited visit to the Cinnamon Spice in Silverdale, Near Carnforth. You asked me to visit it and I have done just that. Situated in the very picturesque village of Silverdale on the outskirts of Carnforth and Arnside in Cumbria, Blink and you will miss it, A small smart clean and comfortable restaurant with 28 seats on the ground floor with a further ten on the first floor. Poppadom’s with a pickle tray, and one of the better pickle trays I might add, sizable portions of chutney, Onions, mango Chutney and Lime pickle. Followed by Seekh kebab which were perfectly spiced and piping hot when they arrived. Next was my usual benchmark stuff, Chicken Madras, again this was one of the better ones that I have had recently. Mopped up with a tandoori Roti. Again, piping hot and so very tasty. If I’m going to be picky there was no serviette on the table nor was there any salt and pepper! But to be fair they were very busy every table was occupied, and they were doing a roaring take-out trade. There is no alcohol but have no objection to you popping next door to the Co-Op, and they will open it for you with no corkage fee. As with many restaurants and take-aways these days, its cash only, but again there is a cash machine in the Co-op next door. Oh, and the toilets are outside! The staff were pleasant enough, but I did not like the” I’ll go and ask” when I asked for a table for one! But the service was slick and attentive. I Don’t Know why I have not searched this place out before as it is one of the better Indians in the area. I will definitely be paying it further visits. The price was a very modest £21.00. Parking was quite easy and close. It’s a good 8/10 from me."

"This is a lovely pub on the canal at Hest Bank. However a couple of niggles. We had a drink there last night. Good booze and reasonable prices. We decided to go back tonight and have a meal. We could not eat in the restaurant which was fine as we had our dog. We had to sit between the restaurant and the main part of the bar. There was a folk group singing there but when we arrived they took up most of the area. Their music was good and it would have bennice to listen to them but the piped music from the almost empty restaurant was so loud with a speaker just above our heads. My friend was getting really agitated as he had two competing styles of music paying in each ear. Why have a live band and play terrible music so loudly to almost no one. The steak and ale pie was OK drowned in a thick over salty sauce but I know this is how they eat in this area as I used to live here many years ago. My friend said his fish and chips were OK but could not recognise the fish. It did not say haddock or cod but for £14.50 you expect something decent. Instead it was pollock that dry tasteless fish that no self respecting restaurant would serve. You might be unlucky enough to get it in a cheap fish and chip shop for £8 or £9 quid. The two guys who were serving were welcoming and pleasant but it was a slightly disappointing experience. If you have good live music please don't drown it out with overloud garbage and if you are serving nasty cheap pollock for your fish and chips please put it on the menu so it can be avoided."
