"The quality is average, but it's a nice change to find a pub chain that offers more than just the typical vegan options. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of choices and the separate vegan/vegetarian menu. It's great to see that "vegan" doesn't just mean a falafel burger at this place!"

"When I arrived to collect my take meal, I was told a price and asked if I would pay money. I wasn't and then the price went up. I asked the reason why and was said it was 20% cash. I asked. Why I wasn't told when I called. I was told I could go and use a cash machine, but I only had my phone without cards. he said I could get the discount next time! I suggested that I still get the discount because I hadn't received the right information when I called it. again he said that next time I would get the discount. there won't be another time, because I don't return, although I've been exploring for many years. in addition, the Pilau rice did not appear completely boiled as it was very nutty"

"This is our first trip to The Rusty Cutter being the closest local Beefeater this evening with space for ten to celebrate the twins birthday. Our waiter, Will, met us at the entrance to take the birthday cake for him to organise later. On completion he showed the family to the table and took our drinks order, followed quickly by any requests for starters. He did explain it would get busy later. The starters, cheesy garlic flat bread onion rings, arrived very quickly and were enjoyed by this partaking. Will waited for these to be finished before he attentively took orders for main meals. These arrived reasonably promptly considering the size of our party and increasing numbers of guests. There was not a fault in any of the meals, all served at a bit temperature, and which were very yummy. Meals included steaks, beef pie, salmon, fish chips, and two kids meals. Will worked hard looking after the family and delivered the cake with a knife, plates serviettes, as well as adding some candles too; wonderful for our teenager to be sung to in public . Puddings and hot drinks were ordered to complete the family party meal and Will made sure all of these arrived without fault. We were dining there for just over three hours and a great time was had by all. Well done to Will the team for a great evening experience to finish a wonderful birthday party."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at the Brookfield hotel. We had a function on the Saturday night which was a 7 course meal and I have to say I was blown away with the service and the reassurance of my gluten free options, I could literally have exactly the same dishes as everyone else with just a couple of tweaks I couldn’t believe it! A lovely gentleman served me who I think was a manager (I am so sorry I cannot remember his name) which made me feel so looked after as it can be daunting eating out somewhere new! All staff were helpful and made the evening run smoothly it was very professional! The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed, the only thing I would say is more plug sockets but that’s not the end of the world! Also it was a bit expensive for room service as a sausage and bacon sandwich ended up being £13.45 including tray service but again with inflation maybe that’s why it was that much! Apart from that there was plenty of parking at a small charge and the hotel was easy to get around. Thank you for looking after us, it was the best meal I’ve had as a coeliac plus the most I’ve ever been able to eat!"

"Lovely tearooms in lovely setting with pleasant staff which I have been visiting for many years . The food has always been of great quality and generous portions and always felt it was good value. On my last 3 recent visits I felt the portions were very meagre with everything extra on top. The burgher my husband had tasted pre cooked with a tiny portion of crisps and coleslaw . My breakfast consisted of one small slice of toast two mushrooms , one egg and a rasher of bacon. Cooked well but just the bare minimum. The new menu reflects the goal to offer a basic meal and then load the cost with extras which were previously included. A slippery slope to being average rather than being exceptional !"

"We thought our sat navigation had sent us wrong (again) and nearly turned around and left but we spotted the Royal Oak around the corner, facing the sea. Parking can be difficult as it doesn't have a car park and there's double yellows part way up the street. Inside its warm, cosy and welcoming. We were shown to a table and our little border terrier was fussed. We ordered starters of soup of the day (spiced pumpkin) and I chose the bao bun. Both were freshly made very tasty. Main courses were a Cumberland ring on the specials menu and a lanb shank. Both were lovely, good portion size, freshly made and well presented. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We're really pleased we found the Royal Oak and will definately return."

"Waited nearly 2 hours no update from them. Food arrived and was left on door step with its contents open and falling out curry everywhere! Luckily got to delivery driver although trying to make a quick exit. Called spice box and said there is nothing they can do if I want refund have to go through their website 3rd party chef online. Now being told chef online have to contact store and refund can take 7 days ! Restaurant told us its instant. So new years eve no food no money. Everyone shouting down the phone in the background at me was truly awful experience. What a way to end 2020."

"sent to wetherspoons for fish and chips, but neither applepay nor credit card payments were accepted by the app. I received no confirmation of my order and the app has instructed me to try again. So I finally gave up and went into the bar and ordered and was told that my order had been placed twice for my table. I was told that this was canceled. meal came and the fish was small, had they sent me a little cod and chips in the earth? the part of the tartaric acid sauce was hardly enough to cover the bottom of the pot, so I had to ask for more. I would have paid twice as much for half the amount. very disappointed my little cod, chips and draught with a small drink cost me"

"Hi, I cannot message you via your website or facebook. I would like to lodge a complaint please. I had lived in Bedhampton for 24 years and have used your restaurant many, many times. I've ordered take-aways from you previously but found that after a few months, the food became very, very bland. I therefore gave my business to other companies. I have recently been using you again for take-away meals and the service and food have been excellent. However, this evening, again, as experienced in the past, the food was totally non de script and band. I had a meal delivered last Friday and it was delicious. Tonight, was awful! Have you changed chefs? It seems your regular customers aren't getting consistency. I feel once you know you have a regular customer, you don't appear to want to keep them as your standards and quality fall. As a small business owner myself, I feel it is important to keep your regular customers content and happy with the quality of food and service. That way you build a relationship and repeat custom. I feel, over the years, you treat your repeat customers with distain. I would welcome your feedback please because I am now reluctant to purchase from you in the future."

"We visited the pub on 25/10 for food. We ordered our food straightaway along with a starter. The starter was out within 20 mins. We then waited and waited for our food. We noticed another couple who arrived at least half hour after us get their food before us. I went to query this after waiting over an hour since we ordered.I spoke to a young girl with coloured hair who was full of attitude. Firstly she questioned if we had actually ordered food?. I advised we had and it was her that had served us and showed her the receipt. She then went to the kitchen to find out where our food was. Considering the pub was very quiet she left me for over 5 mins. When she was on her way back she spoke across the bar to a colleague, was distracted by a dog in the pub, commenting she had not stroked it. She then began wiping down the side before coming back to me advising our food would be with us soon, no apologies were given. The manager came over to us who was very polite offered free desert of which we accepted. My wife went to the bar to order our desert noting the managers offer. She was really questioned again with attitude by the young lady and even rolled her eyes at my wife when my wife corrected her. Both my wife and me are very patient but this got us very angry. I would not recommend this pub at all. They need to seriously work on their customer service skills, or rather the young lady who served us does We had delays the year before when we visited but a full apology was given and a partial refund given of which was accepted. We will not be returning to this pub again."

"First impression on walking into this restaurant within the college was a surprise at how smart, well furnished and decorated it is. Lovely comfortable chairs and well spaced tables. As good as any top class restaurant. The student staff were all smartly dressed with name tags and we were given a very warm welcome. There was a selection of fresh baked rolls waiting on the table for us. The menu, which changes regularly, had a choice of three dishes for each course and was very reasonably priced. A full wine list of wines by glass and bottle was also well priced. The food was excellent and very well presented. Altogether a great experience and we will definitely go again."

"very friendly staff very happy to cater for individual preference. I had a fantastic sausage and hash brown sandwich and to be honest it was so nice, every time I visit that will be my breakfast order! The staff are really friendly and welcoming and make you feel valued.I would give this cafe a 5 star if they had a coffee machine for fresh coffee or a filter coffee option. This cafe is excellent value for money and is perfectly located."

"Thought we would pop in here for lunch yesterday (31/8/16) as menu looked nice and seemed to be a fair few people in there. Well, never again. I have NEVER written a negative review on her before, but feel so strongly about this that here I am.........Customer service was awful, bordering on rude. First item I ordered was a jacket potato with cheese. Only to be informed they have run out of cheese. Um, really!? Ok. Should have run out then. Ended up with a reasonable ham sandwich, reasonable plate of fish, chips and mushy peas. Which is where the word reasonable ended. Chicken nuggets for my daughter weren't hot, just about warm. Sent them back, returned plate 5 minutes later..... 1st nugget my daughter broke open, hot and steaming.......next one actually almost FROZEN still in the middle. Hello, food poisoning anyone?! I took them back again and got shrugged at. Man who was serving had nothing better than a shrug and the woman in the kitchen came and joined in the shrugging and excuses. On top of this, the cheeseburger I ordered was served lukewarm, which rather stupidly, I was just going to leave, rather than make a fuss. Cook informed me it was fine, as they use probes to check temperatures!!!!!!I'm afraid the return of undercooked almost raw chicken nuggets served to my 9 year old daughter rather tipped me over the edge and I demanded my money back for those 2 meals. Should have got the log back I feel in hindsight, all things considered. Oh, and having being told they had no cheese when I ordered the aforementioned jacket potato, my undercooked burger came with a heap of grated cheese on it! So, awful service, shrugs, lies and excuses for the appalling food which was a serious food poisoning risk and a half refund. Do not visit here. Disgusted by the experience and I am generally easy going and never complain. My husband and i worked in catering for many years and it amazes us that this place hasn't been shut down. Unless we just hit them on a very bad day, in which case this review should serve as a wake up call."

"The overall experience was very pleasant and we were well looked after and the' birthday boy' had some candles on his sweet, provides by the kitchen. The food was well presented and for the most part ,good value I will go there again but my disappointment was that the vegetarian option was limited to one fairly ordinary omelette and with my son's problems of allergy to mushrooms and dislike of fish , there was little flexibility in the limited menu. I may have mistakenly read the website menu, which seemed to suggest that there were three menu's to choose from rather than the one we received on arrival. If booking ,it would be worth checking by phone what the menu provides for the day of your choice, if there are allergy issues etc."

"Amazing food from amazing chef and team. On arrival we were made so welcome, there was a set menu on the board but the chef catered for our fussy little ones. They also happily catered for our friends who are vegan, also myself who cannot have wheat. Our food was beautiful, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I would recommend anyone to visit Chives, but do book in advance as they are very popular. We will be going again next year, without a doubt. Such great hospitality."

"I have been using Jade Gardens on and off for some time. I had a negative experience over 10 years ago when the owner was rude and lacked good customer service skills. I stopped going there because of this. Recently, I decided to give the restaurant another try before the lockdown, thinking it was under new management. Tonight, I ordered food for delivery online and was told it would take 60 minutes. After waiting 90 minutes, I called to check on the status of my order. I was told it was on its way, but it took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, the chicken balls, spring roll, chips, and curry were all soggy and lacking in quality. When I called to speak to a manager about my dissatisfaction, the woman I spoke to was very rude and only apologized after I prompted her. She then informed me that she was the director and suggested I leave a review if I was not happy. So here it is...the service at Jade Gardens was appalling."
