"I very rarely leave reviews for establishments within my work Home area. But I have to make an exception here because of the horrible experience I have recently had from Wasabi (St Pauls). So a few weeks ago, I decided to go wasabi for lunch as I really fancied sushi. I purchased my sushi meal and consumed it at my office desk. Within an hour or 2 of eating, I started to feel ill. I ended up having to go to the toilets at work where I began to vomit. I told my boss I feel bad and I needed to go home. So I began my hour commute home while I was getting worse by the second. Half way through my train journey, I was forced to get off my train where I immediately threw up everywhere on the platform in front of everyone at Finchley Road during rush hour (picture attached). It was a very traumatic experience to say the least. I then had to wait around in Finchley Road Station for an hour or so before I felt confident enough to jump back on a train because I was still feeling sick. Eventually, I took the risk and got on the train home while praying that I don't vomit on the train. By the time I got home I was dead. Anyway, next day I felt much better but not 100%. Now this is where its worse. I reached out to wasabi on their Facebook page and explained my experience to them, to which they replied back asking me to email them. So I did. I was then asked to fill out a food poisoning form which took me about 15 minutes to fill in because they wanted so much information (including food I consumed 72 hours ago, where I've been the past few days, etc). Anyway I filled this out reluctantly and sent it back. They eventually reviewed it after 3 weeks and they sent me back a conclusion report outlining the fact they had investigated my case and everything was fine with the food, so you probably got ill from something or someone else, thanks for your custom and goodbye. That's essentially what they said to me. So I suffered illness from their food and they refused to take any blame. I have never ever been food poisoned like this. I eat food from all over the world and I'm always fine and I rarely get ill. Its just their attitude from not caring and not taking any blame or having any sense of duty which has really annoyed me and hence why I am writing this review and sharing my experience. Not even a refund was offered. Just a sorry but you probably got it from somewhere else message. It's safe to say I will never ever eat from wasabi again and I have echoed the same feelings with all my friends and family. Due to my experience, I am unable to eat sushi for a while as it still makes me feel nauseous. If you feel you have to eat from here, then please eat with caution. Myself, my friends and family will never be eating at wasabi ever again."

"Sadly very bad for allergies. I came with my 8 yr old for a rare holiday treat. She has allergies and sushi is her fave food and one of the restaurant choices we eat in pretty risk free. She’s never reacted to sushi and never had this issue in a sushi restaurant. I explained she had a corn and gluten allergy. The lady said even the items listed as gf on the allergy menu could have gluten in due to the nature of the way the chefs work. We have gluten in our kitchen as my hubby can’t be bread free so I said that’s ok if they try their best, wash hands etc will be fine. I chose items which had no sauces etc. But waitress was still looking pretty horrified and said highly likely wouldn’t be gf. I asked if they could simply wipe down the surface and make some fresh a few rolls of maki nothing complex she said oh no we don’t make it fresh oh I thought that was the point of going to a restaurant! At this point my poor daughter said mummy I really don’t feel comfortable eating food made here. How sad that she was made to feel like that. So we left, got the train home, popped to sainsburies, where the lovely ladies at the sushi counter made us fresh yummy sushi, happily taking some extra care around the allergies. 40 mins later we were happily eating it in our comfortable home. Pull it together yo sushi. Honestly allergies are a part of life train your staff not to look at you like you’re an elephant when you mention you have them. Surely you can do better than sainsburies?"

"Unfortunately this restaurant was a big miss for us. We came to celebrate a birthday under a reservation and were pretty much ignored upon entry, the initial welcome was quite dismissive and there was no bringing to our table. It immediately set the tone but I’m always happy to be proven wrong. The lady serving us was extremely casual, perhaps again something I’m not used to, but in terms of attire and dress code smart appearance, there was a lacking. Hair was all over the place, cardigan coming off the shoulders both sides. I presumed this spot in Westfield would have a bit more of a classier feel, staff uniform, hair tied back(food hygiene reasons), but no. The service otherwise was okay, they checked on us multiple times and food came out with good time. There was a general lack of friendliness from most staff asides from the woman, who was very friendly. The food was quite disappointing, I never knew hummus could be dry but this one was. The rice and fish dish was also VERY dry, I had to wash it down and I rarely drink with meals. My companions were also very much 50 50 with the food it was quite average and perhaps the fact we came on a quiet Tuesday evening was the reason however from a catering background I do feel that standards should be held no matter the season. The internal decor is pleasant, and the staff were nice in bringing out cake and serving. I wouldn’t come here again honestly. I would mention to the restaurant to keep standards high no matter the day of the week."

"Unfortunately I had a very bad experience at Fortune Restaurant. Firstly, we asked for prawn crackers whilst we browsed the menu and he said that we had to wait until we ordered. After ordering a selection of starters and main courses, our prawn crackers arrived. What a disappointment they were. They actually tasted of wood as though they had been stored in a cupboard and when we asked when were they cooked, are they fresh? The gentleman responded and told us they batch cook them in the morning and just use them throughout the day/evening. Our starters arrived and everything seemed to be ok. Only fault there would have been the long wait between finishing our starter and receiving our mains. When the mains finally arrived; sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, steamed vegetable dumplings and smoked shredded chicken. The sweet and sour chicken and chow mein seemed fine. However the dumplings tasted like cardboard and had a very strange texture and the smoked shredded chicken was inedible. It was rock hard and I did not even attempt to try this. We asked the gentleman to remove them from the bill and he did however we noticed all of the food tended to go cold very quickly. After leaving the restaurant, I was not impressed and it is not somewhere I plan on returning. Shortly after arriving home, I felt unwell and actually threw up. I am certain this is after eating at the restaurant. Overall, the restaurant was dirty and very out-dated. I would not recommend to anyone!!!!!!!!! P.S IT HURT ME TO EVEN LEAVE 1 STAR"
