"My husband has given the hotel time to contact him but after a few weeks there has not been any promised contact. We visited on 2 occasions over a few weeks as we had previously been for dinner in the past and enjoyed it. The first occasion we had issues was for my birthday in February where we had a table for 12 people. The menu on the website was not the menu handed over to us and even between us all there were different variations. A lot of the items on the menu were not being served and this included a lot of the cuts of steak and the desserts. Food was delicious but service wasn’t very attentive and we had to keep going to the bar to get our own drinks. When we booked we were asked if it was for a special occasion and we did state it was for a birthday, yet nothing was done to acknowledge this. Despite all of this we paid the almost £400 bill and decided to return for Mother’s Day thinking it was just a blip. We turned up 10 minutes early for our 4pm reservation, yet weren’t seated until about 4.20pm. We ordered our drinks before 4pm but these didn’t appear until 4.30pm. Again, we had issues with menus not matching and there were no starters I could eat, or so I thought, I asked what the soup was and was told there was none. It turned out someone else at another table had ordered the mushrooms on toast which I would have ordered but that wasn’t anywhere on any of our menus. The children’s menu wasn’t on any of our menus either and we only found out they were serving the children’s menu after I asked for a burger for my son and the server replied to ask if it was the children’s burger we wanted. We then ordered our food which did not arrive until 5pm. At 5.20pm we had to call someone over to clear the table and ask for dessert menus but after 10/15 minutes they had not returned to take our order so we walked out of the dining room and paid our bill. The food was delicious but the service was appalling. Two tables that were seated and orders taken after us were served first, we weren’t asked for any more drinks orders, the table behind us sat with dirty plates and glasses on it for over an hour after the guests had left. When paying my husband explained to the person he was paying about the service being poor. Baring in mind in the space of 3 weeks we had now spent upwards of £500 eating at their restaurant and neither visit was great. We received a discount off our bill which was a lovely gesture but the man serving my husband had double checked my husbands phone number and advised he would call the next day to discuss the issues. This has not happened. It has been 2 weeks and nobody from Taypark has reached out to my husband. The service really lets the restaurant down as the food is delicious. The menu discrepancies are frustrating and would be a quick fix. I doubt we will return to Taypark again unless these simple things are sorted as it is very off putting to spend 2 hours in a restaurant to only receive one drink and one course of food. Taypark really needs to do better with their service and if they promise to contact a customer they need to follow through with this. Just because you have given a discount does not excuse bad service and my husband would have liked the opportunity to discuss this and I would have given a better review but alas that has not happened."

"We arrived for our table at 7.45pm on a quiet Tuesday, We were on holiday so thought we would go when it was not too busy. We were shown to our table, before we even had our coats off we were asked if we wanted the wine menu, we said yes in a moment. The waiter brought it over and asked if we were ready to order, i said no as we had not looked at the menu yet, he asked 3 times before we had even looked at the wine menu, we had only been there around 5 minutes. Eventually we ordered, the starters which were good as were the mains. We were quickly asked if we wanted a dessert, i asked if we could wait as we have just finished and asked if the restaurant was still open, the reply was, no it is closed we are waiting on dessert orders ! at 9pm !! we were also told it was the latest place open in the Ferry !, We ordered dessert , we were asked if we would like limoncello or sambuka, we were not told this was part of the menu, i asked if it was and was told yes, but had we not have known might have said no , We felt we were hurried out, no offers of coffees or drinks, We ordered £75 worth of food and drink and were out in an hour and a half ! I was looking forward to an evening out not a quick meal. I feel disappointed, but have to say the food was very good, we must have visited on an off night and feel we spent a lot for an hour and a half night out . Not sure if we would return"
