"Wow, what an incredible evening! Celebrated my birthday with friends at this restaurant and it was fantastic. We started with artisan bread and butter, followed by squid and chorizo. Our mains included chicken and chorizo skewers, lamb skewers, and a fish bucket - all of which were delicious. We paired our meal with a lovely bottle of red wine. Overall, a truly excellent dining experience. Thank you to the staff! If you haven't been here yet, you definitely need to check it out!"

"What's not to love about the Beach Hut cafe. It is a fantastic caf, in the most stunning location and the food and service is exceptional. My only gripe would be that the portions are too large but that's not a bad gripe. The opposite would be far worse. We had lunch there when visiting the area in July and had to go back on our most recent visit in September. First time round, I had a lasagne with salad and chips, which was the special that day and it was simply delicious. My sister had a baked potato with tuna. It was absolutely massive. She loved it but couldn't finish it all. My husband had a burger, which was so good, he ordered it again on our return visit. I had wanted him to share a pizza and a side of chips with me but ordered one (vegetarian) anyway without the chips. It was lovely but impossible to finish. I would recommend sharing one, if possible. The queue is long but that's not surprising. It is certainly worth the wait."

"Lovely establishment, friendly and welcoming, even allowed my dog to lay on one of their sofas, she was very happy with that idea. She was clean and she doesn't moult so not a problem. Had she been muddy or anything I'd have sat elsewhere. They even serve J20! YAY. There are soany pubs that don't and have what they say is the equivalent but it's far from equivalent. Lol. Can't beat a proper tasting j20. Will be going again."

"Wow, what can I say but wow. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Firstly we visited the spa and had the most warmest welcome, introduction and then total relax. We stayed at the hotel overnight so we had one treatment on Saturday and the other on Sunday. The facial was truly wonderful. The products smelt amazing and the results were fantastic. Then more chilling by the infinity pool and hydrotherapy pool and jacuzzi. Nothing was too much trouble, the spa ladies were so kind, caring and always put us first. Lunch in the club lounge was delicious. And the views..... breathtaking. Then to check in, which was super, fast, efficient and the lady took us right into our room, where she explained everything and then left us to it. We then headed back to the spa for more relaxation. Evening meal and prosecco cocktails were scrumptious. The next day, breakfast, unbelievable choice, could have stayed there all day, back to spa for second treatment, divine full body massage!! The title says it all. We couldn’t fault a single thing on our stay and we will def be coming back."

"We arrived at 19.30 as booked on the Saturday before Christmas. We were taken to the table, given menus and asked what we would like to drink. We chose an Australian Chardonnay from a selection of four or five whites. When the wine arrived we were asked what we would like to order to be told that there was no fish and no steak. Both of which would have been choices for my family. So the choice was burgers or pasta. We considered leaving but decided to stay. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, even though the restaurant was not busy, so we needed another bottle of wine: none left only Sauvignon Blanc. When the food did arrive in fairness it was hot and tasty, the service was from a very tired waitress who tried to be helpful. But none of us actually hate what we would have had as a first choice. So sorry to the restaurant but no recommendation from me."

"Lovely setting and looked forward to some Cream Tea and Scones on the beautiful lawns with my family Had a mix of Teas and Coffees which I can only describe as just okay for the price charged No sugars offered or supplied and one very small milk container that just about serviced one of us The Scones were Rock Hard and were replaced with an Iced cake which in fairness was quite nice? What I find really disappointing is that we can all accept that things can go wrong but it's how you deal with them that I look for? I felt so sorry for the young trainee staff on the front line as when ourselves and other customers were complaining the older and more mature (Managers) kept their heads bowed and ignored all eye and verbal contact in the hope I suspect we would just go away? There was also a lovely young waitress dressed all in black servicing the outside eating area who was a credit and couldnt be more helpful and a few more like her would be a step in the right direction? Front of House needs to get itself organised Currently have 5/6 Staff all rushing around going nowhere? Service very slow as well"

"Wanted fish and chips for lunch, and whilst they were well cooked the portion size was very small for £14.95. The piece of fish was the width of two of my fingers and about 10 inches long. Quite the narrowest piece of fish I can remember being served. Orders are taken at a counter and then brought to your table once prepared. Customers have to collect their condiments and cutlery. Wish we had ordered the whopper Fish and Chips £17.95) and shared it, because from the photos on TA it looks 4 times bigger than what we got."

"Dinner was absolutely delicious, service was very attentive. Two things influenced the evaluations for the ambience first, the background music was too loud for convenient conversation and secondly the child-friendly aspect. I didn't expect there to be children in sun loungers in the restaurant at 8:00. It's good for parents, but not so much for other diners."

"Stopped here for bite to eat (takeaway) after walking back from mudeford quay. Had looked at other takeaways restaurants along the front but both my wife and I agreed that others pricing was high and remembered we saw this cafe as we drove in Always a good sign with people sat outside eating drinking even with our unpredictable british weather! Good selection of sandwiches and rolls to choose from, along with cakes. Both ordered a bap and slice of cake which were wrapped so we could takeaway and eat along the seafront Very reasonable pricing and only a couple of minutes walk from Avon carpark/beach."

"The restaurant opened in December 2019 under new ownership and management, and I was very impressed with the high quality of fresh, homemade cooking using only British meat, fish, and vegetables from local suppliers. I have visited the restaurant twice and enjoyed all of the dishes. During my most recent visit, I tried the good value 3-course set lunch menu, which included Sticky BBQ Chicken wings with garlic herb mayo and crispy squid as starters, followed by fish and chips and pulled pork tacos with harissa mayo and burnt corn salsa. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. The food was delicious, and it is great to come back during the day for snacks and drinks in the bar area. I plan to return to try the Sunday roast, but I will make sure to book in advance as the weekends can get busy."

"Having been to the Isle of Wight and been massively disappointed with the “seafood” we had had there (frozen calamari and prawns) we had been craving some lovely fresh seafood so we found this little gem! I am so glad we did!! We went for...classic fresh oysters and white bait for starters. I’ve never had oysters so HUGE or fresh they were stunning! The whitebait also lovely. The moules mariniere with chips were really good. Massive portions of the mussels the only down point were the chips standard out the bag frozen chips. But the size of the mussels meant I hardly ate them anyway! We ordered some olive bread on the side a massive portion and super cheap for such nice quality bread. We will definitely be back again! Every plate coming out the kitchen had our heads turning to see what it was and wishing we had tried that! Someone had the pork crackling at a table next to us and it looked so good!!"

If I can get a rare steak in a restaurant, why can't the carvery do rare roast beef? Is this an EU ruling which should be abandoned? Advertisements are misleading."

"I came away from my recent visit to this lovely restaurant with some concern. For good reason, this has been a favourite venue for many years and locals are watching closely to see what a recent change of ownership will mean. Until my most recent meal here, I'd been encouraged that much remained the same, including excellent professional waiting staff. However, despite a price hike, the set-price lunch menu now offers a more limited choice, with two out of eight items being vegetarian/vegan and another two with cost supplements meaning they don't really belong on the table d'hote menu. My starter was the most disappointing start to a meal ever offered here; it was essentially a beige crab pate in a wine glass with just two tiny biscuits to accompany. My main course of roast turkey was as expected and I was happy to find that the Lord Bute continues to include traditional vegetables. However, this rather modest meal cost me £30-. With a better starter, appreciating my surroundings and excellent service, that would have been fine. But I did feel very slightly cheated. I understand the new owner will be aiming to achieve star rating at this venue and do hope that s/he has made the right calculations. The local residents have been very loyal to this restaurant. If a new focus alienates this custom-base, are there enough others who would visit the new version often enough for it to survive?"

"After several visits over the years, always wanting to support this independent restaurant, I was saddened after my last visit and will not be returning again. Although the staff is friendly and the food is decent, we felt rushed during our visit. We walked in at 8:15 and were quickly seated and served, but felt pressured to order. By 9:15, we were asked for payment as they were closing soon. I was not happy with the rushed service and early closing time. The decor of the restaurant looks tired and dated, as if the owners have lost interest. It's a shame because the restaurant is not surviving in its current state."

"because this was our first visit in the corona, we were both impressed by the facility. karen showed us on our table, made us feel special and we felt comfortable from the beginning. the food we ordered was cooked to perfection, and we both agreed that this would be one of our regular foods. the menu is quite extensive and we cannot wait to try another dish during our next visit. we will certainly recommend this place to others."

"I made a reservation at the restaurant/pub through OpenTable, and received confirmation. Everything seemed fine. However, a few hours later, I received a call from The Crown saying they were fully booked and could not honor my reservation. I'm not sure where the issue lies, but my experience with The Crown through OpenTable was extremely disappointing. I would recommend booking directly with the restaurant in the future, although this shouldn't have been necessary."

"I believe they need to work on improving the personal service and engaging in better conversations. The service was quite slow, with many tables being left with dirty dishes and glasses for too long while staff members stood around. Our drinks only arrived after we had finished our meal, and it seemed like the staff could have paid more attention to our table. Additionally, I believe that the kitchen staff should wear masks, as we observed a cook handling food after blowing his nose without washing his hands. The salad bar had a low standard, as our salad was prepared by a young girl who touched it with her fingers, and the salad appeared brown and wilted. The restaurant had a damp smell and was in need of a renovation, with the furniture outside being dirty and uninviting. We have enjoyed dining at many restaurants in the past, but I must say that this was the worst experience we have had."
