The home made vegan cashew nut cheese was incredible also. Lovely atmosphere and staff. "My wife treat me to the festive afternoon tea. There was just the right amount of food and drink with out getting too full. All very tasty with some nice touches. Soup in a cute little bowl, gravy in a little metal churn for the sandwiches. The pudding part was dainty and the optional mulled wine was delicious. Service is very friendly"

"As a muslim woman who is reluctant to go to cafes to work due to the limitations of finding somewhere to pray, I was humbly taken aback by the kind gesture made by the staff members (Paul and Arielle) at Java Joe who provided me with the utmost comfortability to perform my prayers. He even offered to block off an area for me. This meant more than words can express. From the 5* warm service of the staff to the amazing coffee (caramel latte) and food (which is brought to your table). This is hands down going to be my go to cafe from now on. The community that comes to the cafe is also very warm and they are nice to keep to their own business. Also a massive plus point for anyone supporting the boycott movement and are looking for alternatives to soft drinks like (Coca cola ect) they have Karma cola and other options available! I would highly highly highly recommend this cafe to everyone!!"

"The Box Tree has undergone a transformation under the leadership of chef Brado and his team, resulting in a refreshing new menu and higher standards. Since Brado took over, there has been a noticeable improvement in quality, with bold new dishes showcasing the confidence of the head chef and his kitchen staff. The service at the front of the house is excellent, with a knowledgeable sommelier who is happy to provide recommendations. The waiting staff are friendly and professional. While there is no on-site parking, the restaurant is conveniently located near the main town car park just a minute's walk away. With a menu that is constantly evolving, there is always a reason to return to the Box Tree."

"Visited this place seeking a Coffee etc ordered coffee with some cake mistake ,Restaurant prices! .Poor value for 2 Coffees and 2 Cakes at £18+ . Coffees not good for an Italian Cafe , and cakes served with artificial cream ! but to cap it all I caught server in background wiping my cake plate with his hand before service. Hygiene standards? Pleasant atmosphere though."

"stay 2 nights (mon and weds) very friendly, beautiful rooms with comfortable beds. excellent evening dinner especially sea bass with parmesan risotto. somewhat disappointed with first breakfast royale as poached ei was hard and muffin quite dry. but squirting with chopped eggs (painted specifically for soft yellow) was nice second time. bar and lounge seems very popular and busy, always a good sign. would remain and recommend friends."

"This was our first visit and I would certainly go again. The food is great and we were especially impressed with the tasting menus where we could sample multiple dishes. Our waitress was extremely helpful, taking time to talk us through the menu. We really appreciated the attention we were given as we were unsure about some of the foods. I would recommend this restaurant for the food, the civilised atmosphere, the reasonable prices and the marvellous staff."

"We arrived to be told there was no one booked in with our name. Then we were asked if it might be under a wrong name? How would we know. They decided maybe we were under a wrong name so we could go to a table. After waiting an eternity our food finally arrived. Steak heavily coated in salt, steak pie dry and tough, tipsy chicken cold, side salad was just a few leaves looking as though it was a rabbits left overs. Diet Pepsi sent back twice as flat and strange taste to first one. We could have sent the meals back but then would have had to wait another eternity and we were so hungry it was easier to leave it. No one even asked us if we had enjoyed our meal. Dessert order taken after we had to ask, we had waited 35 minutes after being given the dessert menus. We stopped visiting The Grouse due to the last time being of a poor standard but was told it had improved. Shame we listened. Yes we could have sent the meals back, but then we would have waited another eternity. Yes we could have argued the food wasn’t worth it but we understand you need to make a living. You said your chef did his best, maybe he did, but that isn’t helpful, it doesn’t change the poor service and food. In a nut shell, we won’t be back. Two chances were enough. Other people may have had better experiences it’s just a shame that a pub we used to go to a lot has really gone down hill in our eyes."

"We have always enjoyed coming here for a coffee during the summer months , but unfortunately today we had really poor service. We came in just for morning coffee. The place was around 60 65% full. It took 10/ 15 minutes for our order to be taken then a further 20/25 minutes to receive a coffee each. When checking how long it would be the server apologised and said she would check this then took a further 6 minutes to get the coffee. At this point she told us apparently the order had only been put through 11 minutes ago. Which means whoever took our order didn’t bother putting it through for quite some time. The only positive to the visit was the till assistant at the end who was really polite and friendly. just to add that in this time other people had been/eaten and left."

"We came To the royal as a family of three in the school holidays. All of us had an absolutely delicious meal. The loaded steak burger is outstanding. We ordered a sundae to hare as a pudding and all I can say is wow. All three of us dug in and it was still plenty. They have really got everything just right. The lady serving us could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Can’t wait to return"

"I used to come to this spot with my mum and dad about 18 years ago and I’m so glad it’s kept its overall outstanding service. I have been about 6 times over the past 12 months (once for Christmas Day) and they never disappoint. The management and staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is always amazing. Keep up the great work guys and I will see you again once I have lost a few pounds."

"My wife and I visited The Hawthorn for the first time on 20th October to attend a wedding meal in the private dining room. I had the Whitby Crab starter and the Dexter Ribeye steak served rare. The starter was delicious and beautifully presented, and the ribeye steak was really tasty and so tender it melted in my mouth. My wife had the fondue starter and the whole bream, and she loved both. The staff are so professional and friendly, and no request was too much for them. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and cozy, which was particularly enjoyed on the rainy evening we visited Haworth! Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the care taken in presenting it. We are already planning our return to The Hawthorn!"

"We had recently purchased a discount dining voucher from our local radio station and decided to visit last night. When we got there, the atmosphere was fantastic, not too loud, but warm and friendly all the same. All the staff were very accommodating. The food service was quick and when it got there the portion sizes were huge...not to mention delicious, fantastic value for money too. Will definitely be returning!"

"We came for a family meal on a Sunday evening, my wife had the Sunday beef roast which she describes as absolutely superb she said the cut of meat was one of the best she’s ever had My daughter had a child’s beef dinner and my son had the Burger (it actually came as an adults meal by mistake but they was happy to charge a child’s meal for it as it was their error) The BBQ pulled pork burger was simple the best burger I’ve ever eaten everything was perfect there wasn’t too much stuff in which would of made the burger fall apart the burger buns were solid so it all stayed out and the beef was succulent I can’t give much more praise that the full experience was amazing the lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful and the young lads serving were great as well Unfortunately we was only staying in Oxenhope for a couple nights so we can’t go back soon but we will make sure to get back before the end of the year as it was superb HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"I went out for dinner with colleagues, a group of six, and had an extraordinary dining experience. I ordered lasagna, garlic bread, and chips. Lasagna is one of my favorite dishes, and I can confidently say this place serves some of the best I’ve ever tasted. It was incredibly filling, and I finished off with a delightful fruit crumble served with ice cream and custard. The dessert was truly wonderful, and everyone at the table was delighted with their meals. The staff were amazing and very attentive. It’s a nice pub with a cozy atmosphere. I didn’t take any photos of the food, but I did manage to snap a picture of the dessert just in time!"

"Not the best experience . On arrival the restaurant was really cold . The waitress did not know about the free popadoms and pickle tray offer and had to go ask which left us quite embarrassed.. she returned saying they are doing it but only...allowed poppadom each . We were given the menu .. asked about thr early bird menu to which we were told they are not doing now .. yet it is still being advertised on the website ! Would have had a takeaway had we known with it being midweek. For the first mins there was terrible noise from above .. sounded like people were playing football and shouting . The onion bhajis were really dry. The curries we had were ok albeit one had lamb mixed with the chicken which shouldnt have been there. The peshwari nan was lovely. The handwipes were cold .. always hot everywhere else we eat . Only one member of staff there .. very pleasant girl .. ran off her feet .. answering the phone .. serving meals and drinks .. preparing bills . Felt sorry for her . Wont be back . Much better curry places and who honour what they advertise ."

"What a fantastic discovery! I found Cafe Christophe through an internet search and it did not disappoint. One great advantage is that you can make reservations ahead of time. Despite its small size, the restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Christophe took great care of us throughout the meal, providing friendly and helpful service, even ensuring that my coffee was just right. Our group enjoyed omelettes, eggs Benedict, and two full English breakfasts with teas and coffees. The total bill of £44 was excellent value. Personally, I found the full English breakfast with thick-cut bacon, local sausage, black pudding, and homemade rosti to be exceptional. With the addition of beans, tomato, fried egg, and mushrooms, it made for a wonderful breakfast. Thank you for a delightful brunch, complete with a cozy fire on a cold and windy day. The bustling atmosphere of the full cafe speaks for itself - we will definitely be returning soon."

"I tried to do feed back as I was told I should via my receipt.Apparently my dish didn’t exist.Chicken Karahi.Was beyond dissapointed chicken thigh.I ate around 3 tiny pieces.At £12.95 I expected breast..I reported it to my server and another member of staff.Whom were lovely but just apologised and said it’s breast and thigh..Mine had not one piece of breast.Will not return.There is lot more decent restaurant and better value.I can’t believe all the curry houses up for awards are not even that nice."

"We haven't been here for some years and only living a stones throw away keighley meaning to try it again since it was under new management 7 years or so ago previous food wasn't good so was reluctant to try again. We had wanted to try the causeway inn but couldn't get a table so bit the bullet and opted for here. The welcome was friendly . We both had the Sunday roast beef dinner . Unfortunately it was just average. At least everything was home cooked which was a plus . Yorkshire pudding we're home cooked and not frozen ones but unfortunately we're flat and crunchy over cooked, mash potato was lumpy and didn't look or taste like it had since any butter. It was all edible just but unfortunately won't be going again . My own home cooked Sunday roast leaves there's standing . £12,95 each . My lemonade was the smallest I've ever had came in a brandy/ conquec glass and wasn't filled . 2 roast dinners a lemonade smallest you've ever seen and a pint of lager £31.90 Reasonable if my drink hasn't been so small . Could be a really good pub if they had a good chef ."

"My partner and stopped in for lunch today half way through a circular walk Ilkley to Addingham. The food was really excellent. The fish in particular was obviously really fresh and cooked perfectly. Secondly the portion sizes are amazing! We're both really big eaters and still left stuffed. The Brazilian fish stew starter was the size of a main!Eat out to help out is obviously a huge perk but even without it, it would've felt like fantastic value. The staff were also lovely and efficent despite it being busy. Will definately return next time we're down this way."
