"kaifeng is in its own class when it comes to kosher restaurants in london. it is expensive (although they ask for their discount rate card for their next visit as it outputs), but it is worth eating fresh and tasty and service (on...fresh bed linen) attentive. coded precautionary measures are excellent. the set menus are the best worth and we were very full according to the average price per). the most important courses were wonderful. the Chinese tee was perfect and refills free and plentiful. drinks are usually expensive. there is a ok selection for vegetarian and a good fish selection, but this is first line a meat restaurant. the personal also dealt with the unconsidered behavior of a small number of guests who unfortunately all sat next to us. on a table they were loud, rude and sarcastic and then began to fluctuate in the restaurant, connected by another guy who also began to fluctuate. illegally in the united kingdom and they knew it too. we also had to have pie and they stopped (although then in Yiddish sassy was about us when they thought wrong, we wouldn't understand). a young couple managed to move tables away from these men, but no other table was available for the size of our party unfortunately. my advice is to sit down where it is quieter than the larger parties sitting up. as I said, the staff was concerned with these men effectively and professionally and our evening was not inappropriately affected."

"Came across the very lovely Gails Bakery whilst making a pit stop and needing a convenient place to rest. In the meantime we ordered Coffee and a cup of Lemon and Ginger Tea. Upon entering my eyes were immediately drawn to the counter style table...top lovingly adorned with the most delicious looking cakes, pastries, glossy buns, coffee machines and everything a modern day bakery should be. Looking around at the space it is a very gentle welcoming with soothing colour tones rustic touches and finishes set in a galley style space with small round tables set inside opposite the counter of the good bakers cakes and many more delicious scrumptious delights. Non of which were sugar free! If you are visiting London and want to find some where to go a little off the beaten track, so to speak out of the hustle and bustle of London's busy WestEnd and other typical tourist areas hop on a bus and head to Temple Fortune it is a great find! It is set near to Golders Green tube bus and coach station and close to what is known as the Hampstead Garden Suburb Temple Fortune is a really lovely shopping area to kick back in with the history of its development dating back as far as 1907 and with a connected history dating as far back to the 1800. Visit inspired this very short poem; It is to be of Joy and be Joyus! Natural Flowism! A Freedom of Being! If ye so choose be Blessed! Many many thanks to Gails Bakery for being so kind to us Visited: 26/11/2019 Many Thanks and Much Appreciated Lavinia De Ayr"

Indian Orchid

Indian Orchid

828 High Road, N12 0EY, Barnet, United Kingdom

"Since Indian Orchid moved to a new location a few years ago they are within walking distance of our home. This year, during the pandemic, we have dined there a few times, and also had several meal deliveries during lockdown. A comment on dining in: during the August 'Eat Out ' promotion the restaurant was packed. They did observe the sanitizing, hand washing etc rules, but I thought the tables were as close together as before the pandemic, so we preferred take away meals after that. The menu is wide ranging with all the usual Indian favourites, but you also find some more unusual dishes. Aloo Tokri Chaat and crispy bhindi are some examples from the starter menu, as is the vegetable Garhwali masala main dish. Some of their dhals are also excellent, especially tadka dhal and the Hyderabadi dhal. We became vegetarian a couple of years ago, so cannot comment on the non veg food. Flavours vary according to the dish, as everything is cooked fresh to order. The odd dish is a little bit oily for our liking, but that is quite are. Three plates plus nan are usually more than enough for two of us, and we have to take a doggy bag home. If we order four dishes for home delivery we can actually have two dinners, so the price works out to be fairly moderate, usually between GBP25 and GBP40 if no alcohol is involved. Service is always pleasant and obliging. A good place to have in the local area!"
