"The service is efficient, the food delicious (do try the gaspacho, the mini-burgers, the tuna lasagna and the rice dishes), the restaurant airy and welcoming. You can see the food being cooked which is always reassuring. The restaurant at lunchtime was full and all the outside tables taken up. This is the sister company of the Campero in Barbate and if you cannot secure a table in the main restaurant, by all means give this one a try."

"They recommended this restaurant to us and yesterday, September 13 at 1:15 p.m., we called to reserve a table. Today, the 14th at 2:30 p.m., a female voice answered us, noting the reservation. Inside because the terrace was full, we showed up at the agreed time. and a girl serves us very kindly, but surprised that there was no reservation, she offers us alternatives such as improvising a table in a little corner, but it doesn't seem serious to us and we leave, thank goodness we had a can of lentils left in the apartment and other leftovers. Again we will ask for acknowledgment of receipt of the reservation, or identification of the person who assists us."

"Fuimos en un día caluroso de Levante pero aún así la experiencia fue super positiva. Tapas pequeñas pero asequibles, lo que te permite probar más que con las medias o raciones. El servicio fue super agradable por parte de todos los chicos y el atún en todas sus formas estaba riquisimo. Mención especial al atún con mayonesa de trufa(el de la foto) y el taco de atún me encantó también. Relacción calidad-precio excelente. Con ganas de volver."

"Addressed to all those luminaries who complain. I've returned after several years and it's still just as good. The tortellini with carabineros sauce are spectacular (just as I remembered them), the retinto entrecôte is amazing... and the tuna tartare is to cry because of how delicious it is. And the waitresses and waiters are charming. Now... if people's complaints are about waits, prices or quantity, I can only say that good things come with a price and a wait. It is cheap? Well no, but it's not expensive either for the SO GOOD dishes they serve. And the service? Well look... we had to wait. AND? No problem. At all times they inform you and then treat you divinely. Anyway... we had PM dinner."

"The food was in general very good. The tomato salad wasn’t anything special and quite small. All tuna dishes were amazing. Totally recommend the tuna tataki, although the portion was small for the price. The “ventresca de atún” was very tasty and perfectly cooked! They also had a very nice tuna tempura! The meat in the mini hamburger was good as well!"

"Last night we had the wonderful experience of dining at the restaurant El Timón located on the seafront of Barbate. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the place. The dinner we enjoyed was simply outstanding. We started with an ensaladilla rusa that was surprisingly creamy and delicious. And with a toast with tuna cubes that was spectacular. We continue with some homemade croquettes. The options were Iberian ham with mint aioli and half of garlic prawns. We were able to order them mixed, which we appreciate because that way we could try both. And both one and the other, they earned the title of the best croquettes I 've ever tasted. The prawn ones were spectacular, with a taste that made your mouth water, and each bite was an explosion of prawn pil pil flavour. We continued the evening with an Iberian ham plumilla that perfectly complemented the dinner. And to top it off, the desserts, a Kinder cake and a Lotus mousse, were real pleasures for the palate. Both were delicious and left a sweet memory in our dinner. Overall, El Timón is a place that I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Barbate. The quality of the food is exceptional and the ambiance along the boardwalk adds a special touch to the experience. The only small disappointment was that, unlike other tables, we were not offered the dishes that were off the menu. And we found out at the end of dinner because a table that sat next to us was told. Still, despite this, it was a wonderful dining experience. or we were offered non-carte dishes when we were almost finishing dinner. Don 't hesitate to try this place if you get the chance, you won 't regret it!"

"We got to the reservation and the deal wasn't that much because it seemed like we owed them something. But, well, we sat down to eat, and I honestly got to eat quietly without a waiter coming every 5 minutes to ask me how we're going, like in haste. to surprise, the price of the water, the small bottles to fill, to 2.2€; I think the water is something you should not charge so expensive, since on the other hand you already give the stick. I've gone pretty much, but this year is the last, I haven't been happy."

"We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. As we were visiting Los Canos de Meca off season we were pleased to find this gem open. It's humble exterior belied the well finished menu. We sat on the terrace at the front and were greeted by...a very pleasant waiter who was engaging and friendly without being intrusive. He explained the off menu specials which we declined perhaps a mistake in retrospect. I say this only because the quality of the food we ordered was so high, I expect the specials would probably have been sensational. Here's what we did order : Gambon especially Al Atillo perfectly tender shrimp sizzling in a sea of butter and garlic. Bacalou en Tempura crispy tempura battered cod pieces as soft and flakey as you could hope for with a swipe of sweet chilli. Presa a Pera soft slices of Iberica pork with little cubes of pear and caramelised onions. All three dishes were extremely good, if the cod a little salty. The portions were substantial which justified the slightly higher than expected prices. In fairness our concerns that the prices were a little (seriously not of great concern) more than we had wanted to pay for lunch were before we ate. All those concerns quickly disappeared! The dessert of Creme Brullee was not so much a disappointment but unexpected. Not really a Brullee but an ice cream. Delicious all the same. Would definitely recommend."

"Al lado de la playa en Caños de Meca, pero metidito en un “bosque” lo que hace que sea bastante agradable cenar ahí por qué no estás al lado de la carretera. Pedimos patatas y nachos para compartir que no están mal, los nachos son bastante grandes. Y pizzas, cinco para siete. Muy buenas todas, en especial la de setas y la tortuga con pera y panceta. Sacamos hueco para el postre, crepe de nutella y tarta de dátiles, la tarta estaba espectacular. Salimos a 17€ por persona y salimos llenos. Lo recomiendo."

"Cenamos muy bien. Seguramente no a todo el mundo gustará este tipo de comida, pero estaba todo riquísimo, incluido el postre. Las raciones son muy generosas, quizás en exceso la camarera debió habernos avisado de que estábamos pidiendo demasiado. El lugar es muy agradable, el servicio también lo es, y el precio es tal vez un poco caro. En general, sitio recomendable."

"Me and my Mrs were fancing Italian risotto while staying in barbate so we popped in to occio and the owner told us its not in the menu but he will do it for us, mind you that ! The best risotto we ever had so I highly recommend the place to anyone who's close by !all stuff are super friendly and real Italian food come from a real Italian Thank you for the excellent service . 10 stars"

"Fuimos dos dias seguidos porque el primero quedamos gratamente impresionados por la carne y el carpaccio que comimos, pero en el segundo dia que fuimos, para no comer lo mismo decidimos pedir pescado frito, ya que por la ubicacion del bar parecía imposible que en Zahora te pusieran pescado de mala calidad....... Ese fué nuestro error, el pescado frito variado que pedimos no sabía a nada, sin calidad, sin sabor, yo juraría que era congelado.... Si van, pidan carne y triunfarán, si piden pescado saldrán decepcionados como sali yo"

"We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel staff. It looks nothing from the outside but it is a gem. from the moment you walk in you are treated with kindness. The decore is very simple, you sit down looking out at the beach and sea and feel very nestled in from the wind and elements. The menu is mostly gluten and lactose free. The waiter will ask you if you have any food allergies. I had the croquettes de Choco which were divine, Calamari, Adobo and Gallo. I did visit 3 times. Each dish was tasty. The potions are very generous. Food 10out of 10 service 10 out of 10 menu 10 out of. 10"

We try many products from the letter, being the majority in tosta/montadito/tapa format you can taste different cuts of atun and preparations, I recommend also trying other fish from the area to part of the tuna, such as the lobit mountaine. I would improve the bread of the mountaineers that if, which is pre cooked and was undone and does not joticia to the content of it. the place preserves all the essence of what it was, a fishing club. the staff is also of the best, very attentive, friendly and fast. We will certainly repeat, I hope you never change your quality/price ratio."

"We'll come back, but we'll certainly not sit back where they put us. Every time the waiters passed by our side, the whole table and our chairs moved, it seemed like we were on a wooden raft. the waiters went to every pill from top to bottom stepping hard, nor farning sanz with their theme can describe those footprints that moved the whole wooden floor. apart from the fact that every time cars were passing through the border road they were doing it a few meters away and we swallowed all the smoke from the exhaust pipes. On the other hand, among the waiters themselves there was no communicative pain because several of them asked us several times. the great food, a pity that we could not enjoy it as is due to the bad location where we sat. to see the next one as it is."

"It is no longer even a shadow of what it was. We have been there many times, and the quality of the product has progressively gone down. It caught our attention especially because of the tuna bonbon, we always ordered it and now it comes with fewer ingredients, a more basic presentation and the plate is very small compared to before. Right now (and I wouldn't have said it before) very high quality/price ratio. Something good to note is the service and that the rice dishes are still good."
