"food was okay what we got, went in before a theatre show arrived at 6 only got our starters at 6.55 and when we asked how far along our mains were as we needed to leave at 7.20, this was at 7.15 I asked to be told she would check and get back to us it got to 7.20 and she hadn't come back so we cancelled our mains. very disappointed with this service and for a starter and a drink it cost us 12 pound each. service was terrible. they were under staffed. I phoned in the day before to inform them we were going to the theatre and we would need to be leaving at 7.15, spoke to a girl called Sophie she was really helpful and put a note on our booking, however the staff that night didn't look at the note and were unhelpful. will not be eating there again it spoilt our night"

A nice place to eat. The food was very good and I thought the menu was priced very well. I liked the open kitchen as it added to the atmosphere.

I'm actually really surprised to be giving Zizzi's anything above a 2, but credit where credits due, my meal yesterday was brilliant! It admittedly wasn't Voir le carte

While the food was tasty, our experience was somewhat marred by the chilly draft coming through the large glass windows. The atmosphere was not very comfortable. Additionally, when seated in the back of the restaurant, we felt neglected by the waitstaff.

Although the food was delicious, we were sat next to the large glass windows looking out onto the dock which made it very cold and it wasn't a very comfortable atmosphere. Being sat at the back of the restaurant I also felt we were slightly overlooked by waiters.

We were running late so decided to try the Piccadilly branch for the first time. The menu has also changed since our last visit and there are a good range of new dishes plus very reasonable set price menus are also available. We both had the salmon broccoli which was well presented and was really delicious. Service was attentive and very quick. I found the only negative is that the tables are very close to each other. I have frequented Zizzi restaurants in the past and expected this visit to be as excellent as the others. After receiving my confirmation email, I eagerly took my friend for her first Zizzi experience. When we arrived at the scheduled time, we were informed that the restaurant was closed. I was both frustrated and disappointed as had I known earlier, I could have made alternative plans. Instead, we were turned away at the door with no explanation other than the restaurant being closed. I am not sure how this miscommunication occurred, but I hope it does not happen to anyone else.

I have been to Zizzi restaurants many times before and thought that this time like many others would be excellent. Having received my confirmation email I took my excited girlfriend for her very first zizzi experience. Upon arriving at the time I had booked and got specific confirmation for we were told the restaurant was closed. Now as you can imagine I was both dumbfounded and furious. If I had been told the restaurant was closing early I could have made other arrangements and would have been perfectly fine with how things transpired. Instead I turn up completely unaware booking confirmation in hand to be turned away at the door with a sorry we 're closed . I don 't know how this happened...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
