"edible maternal day lunch my first visit at the george in the beautiful village great amwell. from the moment we went, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Drinks arrived immediately, as well as each of the 3 courses during our stay. it has a nice cozy atmosphere and eating is not only very well presented, it tastes delicious. more restaurant quality eat in a pub. it is not the cheapest place in the world, with menu prices that touch on london prices, but when they are in demand, and the people are happy to pay. then what can they expect me to return and recommend for a beautiful meal"

"what a nice place to go for a meal. when they go into it feels inviting and the decor is simply beautiful. service was fast and informative about certain dishes and how to eat them. always checked to make sure we were in order and to top-up all drinks we needed. eating was some of the best thais I had for a long time. my seafood panang curry had a heat that built in the run of time, but was not exaggerated and the fragrant made my mouthwater with each spoon. all courts were well represented. the menu is extensive and of amazing quality, there is a story about the owner history that is a good read. all the elements on the menu have an allergy button that made there with a milk allergy very easy and easy to dinning. worth a visit. we are looking forward to our next visit."

"We held a surprise 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration at Maltons on Saturday for our parents... the evening was perfect, and better than we could have hoped for! My sister and I were particular about how we wanted the space to look as there were lots of personal touches we wanted to make. Ali was very welcoming in letting us do whatever we wanted to, he was there whenever we needed him and nothing was too much effort. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was. We had 30 guests having 3 course meals, and every sitting came out quickly and all together, the food was hot and presented beautifully. The staff were all extremely friendly and again, nothing was too much effort for them. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening at this venue. It was a beautiful surprise for our wonderful parents and the aim was to remind then of how loved and appreciated they are. Maltons certainly helped to make that happen! We will be sure to go back again soon, and would highly recommend making a visit you won't be disappointed. "Great fish and chips with an extensive gluten free menu. The gluten free batter was better than most chip shop's regular batter which meant I could happily share with my gluten intolerant partner. The Samphire, Mushy peas and tartare sauce were top notch also. "greatly disappointed, eaten here many times before and loved it, But yesterday wow, Staff outside smoking, that lingered into the restaurant Food was unedible ! Wine tasted off ! Service was appalling ! When we paid our bill we gave our opinions and the manager just stood there and listened but made no attempt to come over and try to rectify any of the problems. Will not be going back again !!"
