"From arrival table was ready to go, staff were friendly and approachable. Food order was taken promptly and courses came out well timed. Food was of great quality, nicely sized portions and great variety of traditional Irish pub food. The setting and down to earth character of Whytes makes it a great to drink and eat with a live acoustic set in the background. My only criticism would be the background music level made is more than background so our party struggled to make conversation having to shout over music."

Overall great experience only issue we had was the music was a bit loud.

The restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday evening, with loud groups of drinkers standing too close to our table, making it hard to enjoy our meal.

I had a wonderful meal catching up with a friend from the past. The food was delicious. The only drawback was that the music was a bit too loud. However, I will definitely return.

It wasn't really serving food at 6:00, although we book the menu Easter Sunday evening on an open table. Let's hold us for Easter Sunday dinner last minute and find somewhere else on site after a flight to Belfast. The advertising needs have been changed.

Was several times for food and never disappointed. The restaurant was very busy, so took a while until the food came out, but it was worth waiting. Recommend the crispy buttermilk chicken with peppercorn sauce, very tasty. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

20 minutes for a drink to be served should be more than a barman. Food came and order warns right, chips cold on both meals, steak over boiled, when ordering Steak it should be served with real chips non-frozen french french fryers. Would not recommend and will not be back.

I went to White's for lunch on a Saturday after it was recommended by a friend. The service was a bit slow, but the food was delicious. Our server, Roisin, did a great job keeping us informed about our orders. I suggest making a reservation in advance as the restaurant was very busy and there were people waiting in line for tables.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
