"Yesterday, after a long day of travelling, we asked if we could get food. We were there just before the kitchen was going to close, but were told it was already closed. Today, we tried again. We went before 6pm. More than half of the chairs were empty and the staff were standing about idly as if they were not quite sure what to do with themselves. I asked if a table for two persons was free and the waitress turned us away after not really glancing at the list of table reservations. We find these incidents rather strange, since we often go out to good restaurants to eat and this has never happened to us before."

"Ein solches Lokal hat uns gefehlt, hier gibt es einfach superleckeres Essen! Mich begeistern immer wieder aufs Neue die tollen Salate. Die sind, mit einem Wort: Fantastisch. Und nicht minder gut sind die Spitzen-Burger. Sie kommen mit sehr ungewöhnlichen Namen daher wie „Paul“, „Marie“ oder „Terminator“. Dazu passend gibt’s den „Burger des Monats“ – wie zum Beispiel „Papa Noel", „Daniel" oder aktuell „Aňa“. Ungewöhnliche Namen und außergewöhnlich lecker – so lautet unser Fazit. Die Brötchen sind frisch und selbst gemacht, und auch alle anderen Zutaten sind sehr frisch und schmackhaft.Der Service ist sehr freundlich, man merkt, dass sich alle gerne um ihre Gäste kümmern, alles kommt in passender Zeit an den Tisch – manchmal geht’s sogar superschnell! Das Lokal ist nicht sehr groß, deshalb waren wir jetzt in der Nebensaison immer froh, gut einen Platz zu bekommen.Wir sind begeistert und kommen immer wieder!"

"Bestes Essen, hat auch nachmittags offen. Schnelle einwandfreie Bedienung und große Portionen bei überschaubaren Kosten.. Ambiente könnte wohl noch verbessert werden, ist bisher einfach aber funktionell gut. Man kann tatsächlich auf einer überdachten Terasse sitzen und auf die Mosel schauen.. Haken hat alles richtig gemacht Meal type: Lunch"

"My family and I had eaten at the Schloss Hotel Restaurant twice before and had decent service and good food... No significant complaints. Then came the group experience... We reserved the outside patio area for a group of approximately 30 and even put in our requested order (they requested we all eat the same meal for their convenience at cooking for such a large party... fine). The person making the reservation spoke with the manager on three occasions, once in person when she put in the order and confirmed the guest count.When we showed up to the restaurant on THE night, it looked as if we had been totally forgotten about. We were seated INSIDE (the weather was cloudy, but no rain yet and still nice enough that others were outside) and we were seated at different tables, some far apart from the others so that it was as if we were not together at all. When we expressed our displeasure at the situation, we were met with rude replies, blaming accusations (???), and no help at all. I asked why we were not seated outside when we had reserved the outside patio area, and was told that it was too cold (it was not). Finally, I told the manager that we would be moving outside. Once outside, things got even worse... The party was only saved due to great company and lots of fun and laughter amongst us all. A couple of the staff were very nice and a couple were the worst I have come across in Europe, going as far as insulting and bashing us in German without realizing that some of us were German and understood every word. We had to wait almost two hours for our meal and we later found out by one of the staff members that the manager forgot to put our reservation in the calendar (so why they tried to blame us beats me). One of the waitresses there was the most condescending and rude women I have met in my life and she tried to make us pay at the end for a meal that no one had ordered, been served, or eaten. I have recently found out from others in this area that they had similar group experiences at this restaurant... Horrible management, no preparation, poor service, and a habit of sticking guests with meals they did not order or eat. The area is pretty and the hotel is nice, but... Never again."
