"After we have booked through the opentable app for 18.45 clock, we actually arrived at over 45 minutes early, but it was not a problem for the staff and we were sitting fast. the starters arrived soon after ordering and were very nice. for the net we had made the burgers and 2 of our party requested well, and the third was a regularly cooked burger, in contrast to some restaurants that cannot differentiate and cook as they were the burgers to this occasion were served exactly as we requested. we have shown on a NEC show, so it is regrettable that we are continuing from soihull."

"We asked for a shish kebab starter as they come as a main dish, the waiter said he could do it it came and it was clearly a main dish as it was huge, we asked whether it was a starter and again we were told it was a starter. When the bill came we were charged a main dish , we again questioned it and we were told it came as a main dish this was their error as we asked whether they would a shish as a main and we were told yes but charged as a main dish all other food was lovely"

"A great spot to meet up with friends. We visited on a Monday lunchtime, and it was busy so it shows they have got the formula right ! I ordered the sea bass fillets, which were great quality and beautifully cooked. The accompanying Mediterranean veg were good, and the pea purée decent. The Potato Dauphinois was delicious, but unfortunately I felt the portion was rather miserly. There was no sign of the listed “sunblush Tomotade Sauce”. The meal was tasty but unfortunately it must have sat on the pass too long as it was only luke warm when it arrived… I love my food piping hot ! Everyone else enjoyed their meals, so I was just unlucky. The service was great, very efficient and friendly. Definitely a great place to catch up with friends, so we will be back ! I would have left a five star review if my food had been served hot, and I had been given a bit more potato ! ."

"My daughter and I visited this establishment for breakfast. In a past life it was a takeaway sandwich establishment, and to a large extent it still is but of a very high standard. We both had the Full English Breakfast Board which consists of a large Lashford sausage, Bromsgrove bacon, Black pudding (not for either of us), Free Range Eggs, Tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms , toast and butter. I had an Americana and my daughter a tea. The food was excellent. Looking at the menu, the pricefor the breakfast was £8.95 which by today's standard is quite expensive, with the coffee at £2.25, and tyhe tea at £1.60. When we came to pay we were informed that there was a surcharge of 20% as we had eaten in. This was not told to us when ordering. The total bill which as far as we were concerned was £21.75 climbed to a dizzy £26.10. Some price for a lovely breakfast but sat on metal chairs in a tiny unit. I found the breakfast to be one of the best that I have had in years, but the price a bit steep and the lack of clarity re pricing annoying."

"There is a lovely vibe here and as we’re within walking distance we really value the close proximity. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We’ve eaten here a few times and the food is exactly what you would expect in terms of quality and presentation at this price point. Just some minor feedback which we hope you find helpful, the burger one of our party ordered (which he said was delicious btw) was really too large for the small board it was served on and the 4 tempura prawns in two of the starters would have felt better value for money if there were 1 or 2 more. The ham hock starter also contained chorizo which wasn’t mentioned on the menu and as my daughter is pregnant she had to send it back as she’s unable to eat cured meat. The waitress couldn’t have been more helpful and the kitchen provided a speedy replacement, none of this detracted from our visit and we will certainly be booking again."

"Friday 17 December 2021, my man and I went with our friend susan for a Christmas party curry. we started meeting for pre-dinner drinks in the susan house. we then went for our Christmas party curry to "the kismet" indian restaurant here in...Castle bromwich. the kismet indian restaurant is a modern Indian restaurant with a small and intimate atmosphere. eating here is very good and there is a very good selection of curries. my man, sue and I had all pappadome with different chutneys and dips for our ancestors. my man for his main course had a huh bhuna with pilaureis what he said was very nice. my main course was a kashmiri chicken balti with a perswari naan that was really delicious. susan for her main course had chicken tikka served pilau reis that she said was delicious. we haven't been harassing ourselves with desserts since we were full. we had all washed this beautiful food with cobra bier for all of us. the bill for the three of us was very reasonable. we have been here for many years and eating is always consistently, hot and very well presented. if you want a nice restaurant with good eating and friendly staff, then this is the place to visit when they are in the opposite."

"Arrived for our first visit to this restaurant a few minutes before our 8:00 p m booking, but the table was not ready as the diners from an earlier booking were lingering; we were about to discover why. Invited by the proprietor to take a drink in the lounge of the pub below and 20 minutes later the gentleman came down to collect us and our drinks. For starters we shared a tandoori combination and for mains we chose a couple of the signature dishes supplemented with a dhal, portion of basmati rice and a nan. Not only would I would describe the taste of the food as outstanding, but the quantity of food was also ample. We really took our time to enjoy all the flavours. It is quite a small restaurant having perhaps 35 or so covers. It seemed to us that there were many regular diners as there was a fair deal of friendly conversation with the staff, but this did not delay or spoil the service in any way. All in all we had a splendid meal and a super evening."

Despite the issue with the wrap, I still love Jamaya for their fried chicken and other offerings. "Usually only have a drink which is excellent plenty of choice and reasonably priced. Decided to try food. Wednesday 28/05/2024 evening. Ordered Cod and Chips and Sirloin Steak and chips. Chips lukewarm at best both meals. Peas with Fish and Chips came with sweetcorn which I hate and it spoiled my meal. When I asked waitress why the mix she just took plate away and made no comment. Cod and Steak were good."

"THe slug has always been the best place for a bottomless brunch for me. Not the case on my last visit. Table of 2 we got overlooked. Felt in the way and like a nusance, did complain to the managers they said they where short staffed, but the bar staff where doing nothing laughing and joking while the brunch staff run off there feet. The price has increased but the service level has decreased. dont think i will be coming again ! lots of competition out there !"

"I ate here for the first time for Sunday lunch I have to say, my meal was really lovely (sea bream with couscous). It's quite pricey but if it's really tasty, then I don't mind. We used to come here for drinks regularly on a Monday night to be entirely honest, we had very poor experience from quite a number of the staff, pretty rude bored, unfriendly attitude.....not all, there were two young ladies 1 young man, who were very good we told them so, because it was such a refreshing change. However, I have to say, the staff on Sunday were really nice friendly attentive (as it should be)..... hopefully this shows a general improvement that may well be reflected on Monday nights now (we don't ever go on a Monday night now though, as we switched venues). So, note to management, keep good service up there as a priority. Your food is really good but without great service, customers don't feel so inclined to come back... keep up the good work"

"OH MY GOD AMAZING What more can I say, the service and the food were impeccable, the staff are very attentive, knowledgeable with info about the food and the wines to accompany the dishes, courteous, caring, and really take a pride in their roles, the kitchen staff have excellent attention to detail and know how to cook, the food we had was exemplary, cooked to perfection, not every chef can do a steak rare, most overcook it even if it’s just a tiny bit, but my steak on the surf and turf was cooked to perfection, the chimichuri with with the surf and turf was fresh and tangy with just the right amount of chillies, the monks fish tail wrapped in pancetta was moist and dried out like most chefs cook it, the risotto was nutty and tangy, and the pak Choi wilted to perfection with soy sauce and chilli, the starters were equally incredible, light and juicy scallops with fregola, broad beans and sun dried tomatoes, and the smoked salmon with rye bread, capers, dressed with onions and herby cream cheese, all the flavours complimented each other perfectly, This was a dining experience I won’t forget in a hurry, we were made to feel to welcome, as though we were visiting old friends, Please go and visit You won’t regret it"

"our last group visited this year, and the chef and andy and his team have looked after us exceptionally well, and we promised that we would return. we wish we hadn't booked on andys day. first our server has managed our needs very well with pre-lunch drinks, but then everything fell apart when our group of 10 was shown on our table. it was 20 minutes for our wein and half an hour for our easy lunch order to deliver to our table and what a disappointment it was. two main courses 18 were miniskule. a tomatensalat consisted of 3 discs with a dressing, and the mushroom dish was similar size and eaten in three mouthfuls. all the other courses were in many respects inadequate from size or instruction. commentary about the table were very negatiw, and there was a comment that we should ask the nearby chippy if they would deliver! complain about the size of the portions (that we have erroneous starter sections, were made to our server that introduced someone we had assumed was his manager (beard/pongtail) who did not seem excessively affected. he could only comment on the finest local ingredients and did not seem inclined, or have the autority to adjust the bill of main to starter price for the chosen courses. instead of following the point, we have made our dissatisfaction known and paid and abandoned. as a group we meet for lunch two months and our expenses annually are 2,5k with much more spent on family and friends. it will be spent elsewhere"

"Visited on valentines day. Of course on a busy day like that it was always going to be difficult for the front of house to provide the best service. However, the main problem with zizzi as a whole at the moment is the app ordering. To get the app was easy enough with the bar code on the table with table number. But, ordering is not as personal as you expect from a restaurant. By this I mean when ordering a pizza you expect to be able to customise the toppings as its one of the most customisable meals out there. But the app had no option for this meaning we avoided the pizza. In the end, we ordered the new sharer starter, a beef shin meal with potatoes and ricotta filled tortelloni. The starter was just amazing, beautifully cooked fried calamari, oozy arancini with mozzarella filling, tangy caprese salad and garlicky garlic bread. A great starter to share, for it was a bit much but perfect for or With such a great start we were then let down by the mains. My beef shin was cooked nicely and the broccoli accompaniment paired well, but the cheesy potato that was supposed to come with it was replaced by chips, due to running out. I understand that when you run out there isn't anything to do, however because we ordered on the app no one warned us about this until it arrived, and by then it is too late to change. However, it was the tortelloni that was really disappointing. It came as described, the spicy tomato ragu was tasty, but the filling of ricotta was horrible. It had the texture of strange mash potato and was devoid of taste. Because of this we both decided not to finish our dishes. The saving grace for this visit was the starter and the service we received from a hectic front of house. When we mentioned the tortelloni the manager was kind enough to remove it from the bill, even after resistance from myself. From seeing other tables you could see that the waiter's/waitresses were truly trying their best to save everyone's nights. So I give them stars because the starter was lovely and the staff were doing their best. But the marks are lost with a poor consistency of food quality and an app that needs updating or removing."

"This has seriously been the worst service I've received in years .i was greeted by a young girl whom hadn't a clue what was going on .she wasnt able to allocate us a seat so we just sat at the nearest table .we ordered a bottle of wine and she promptly took payment .lots of tables with no drinks on .people walking out as waiting too long .4 staff all milling around doing nothing .waited 20 mins for our drinks so decided to go to the bar and ask “.yes they will be with you shortly “ 10 minutes later they arrived so half an hours wait for a bottle of wine .abs ridiculous .there is abs NO customer service .the only quick service was when they took payment!!!! Its being run by collage kids but it needs someone in there to organise the staff .such a shame as the decor is lovely but customer service has to come first .always greet and acknowledge your customers .very important ."
