We had a smash burger each which were very tasty but only came with 10 chips, come on what does it cost to give a good portion of chips when burgers were £12.95 each.

Food is always nice but a little disappointing that on the menu change the goat’s cheese bruschetta now doesn’t come with toasted bread and the goats cheese is not breaded and frozen

We attended with some friends last week, staff were lovely. Food not so great, pasta dishes were watery and tasted funny. Sauces not very flavoursome. My steak was undercooked. Very good presentation but couldn’t hide the poor food. Friend had desert that was lovely too but overall would have got better value for money elsewhere. Also toilets not very clean. Voir le carte

Celebrated my birthday and we all had an excellent typically Italian meal.......rich a tasty sauces, lovely jubbly. Also had a delicious lemon cheese cake. Staff were excellent and attentive. The builders were busy knocking about the gents toilet but the noise didn't distract as they had music on full blast! Check the builders have finished before your visit and you can be assured of an excellent meal.

I have been going to the windmill for a number of years and have always had a pleasant experience for the price range. I visited yesterday and was shocked at how much the cost of the steak had went up from £22 to £30. For £30 it was only steak and chips , there was no veg included. I understand the current financial climate however it wasn’t good value for money. It didn’t justify the £8 price increase. The food was lovely but not worth £30 .

We had a fantastic evening here a couple of nights ago celebrating my Son's 21st birthday. There were 18 of us in our party. The staff were fantastic, they looked after us all night and nothing was any trouble to them. The food was really lovely and a good price too. The staff got my son up on a chair and had everyone sing happy birthday to him followed by a complimentary shot drink. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time and I will definitely be returning again soon to try out the Sunday carvery. Voir le carte

Decided to try on recommendation of workmates who’d also dined at Sambuca’s in Church Street. Overall menu/food was pretty much the same, however, staff cleared my husband and sons starter plates while I was still eating, a definite no-no in my book. Felt a bit rushed as just as I’d finished my starter then the mains arrived (I would prefer a break of at least 5/10 minutes between courses). Food was delicious as expected. We also ordered Irish coffees which arrived in a bit of a sorry state (probably prepared by inexperienced staff). An ok experience but I think we’ll probably stick to the Church Street branch in future.

We were welcomed entering the Inn and shown to our table. That was where the special treatment ended. I had 2 starters as I do not eat much and my husband had a starter and a main meal. What I had was very nice and the price was ok? my husbands main was nothing special just like something I would make on a weekday. Delivered lovely and warm on warm plates which was good. we were going to have Sunday lunch at the carvery but the meat looked really dry, the bench was a mess with veg and spilt gravy, not inviting at all. Carvery here was recommended by a family member. Today (Sunday we decided to deviate from where we usually go for our carvery and try Sambuca Windmill big mistake! Upon entry, we were quickly seated. Drinks orders taken and delivered very quickly. No The place was very busy lots of noise, kids and people rushing about, loud music adding to the noise. Carvery didn’t look great so we asked for a main menu, to be told after drinks were served that they don’t serve the main menu until after 4pm on a Sunday. We nearly walked out. We should have. Long queue for the carvery. Limited choice of veg. Dry meat (maybe why the waiter drowns your food in gravy at the end! and only a few slices. Your roast... Voir le carte
