"Went for Sunday roast with a group of 5 adults, one eleven year old and a toddler. The roast was excellent beef cooked perfectly and sliced fairly thickly so it retained it's juiciness. Lovely yorkshire pud and plenty of veg, all cooked just right ie not overcooked retaining a slight bite. Good selection of traditional desserts the chocolate brownie with cream was light, moist and very chocolatey! Proper old Cornish pub, a couple of miles outside Helston (less than 10 mins drive) in the hamlet of Wendron so very rural but not remote. Ambience warm and cosy; hosts Phil and Mel friendly and welcoming. Prices very reasonable with a choice of large or smaller (for children or those with a smaller appetite. All in all, what more could you want if looking for good value Sunday roast. Highly recommended."

good food, quick service. beerbattered sweet and sour bun, with the biggest pieces of chickens I've ever seen. a far cry from the usual takeaway version. Irish cremefreude eis was also great.

A warm and cosy Cornish pub. Mel and Phil were friendly and welcoming, and Denzel too! Kids happy playing board games while we had a few relaxing drinks. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and good size portions. Highly recommend to visit, will definitely be returning. Voir le carte

We stopped by on Thursday while passing through and found a charming little pub with a fantastic landlady named Mel. She was very welcoming, engaging in great conversation, and always had a warm smile. I highly recommend dropping in for a few drinks. The next time we're in Cornwall, we will definitely return!

What a charming little pub, a true gem nestled in a quaint village—so small it could easily be overlooked. It was just over a kilometer from our B&B, so we decided to have dinner there one evening. The food was delightful, and the service was incredibly friendly. The publican, Mel, was wonderful and took the time to inform us about the beers on tap and even helped us select an intriguing gin. The salmon was so delicious that I completely forgot to take a photo. Definitely worth a visit!

They serve incredible food with a wide range of gluten-free options that are genuinely tasty! It's fantastic to enjoy a burger and fries that actually tastes like a burger and fries instead of cardboard. The restaurant is very family-friendly and has consistently gone above and beyond to accommodate us, even though we often come as a large group with various food intolerances. The New Inn has truly become our new local spot, and I hope it stays that way! Thank you for always being wonderful and for making my kids' birthdays so special when we celebrate with you!

"We were staying in Porthleven, so booked Kota in advance, as we were aware of this interesting restaurant from previous holidays in Porthleven. We had the six-course dinner menu with the wine pairing, for which my food allergy was well catered for as most dishes were the same as my partner’s. The initial three “snacks” were a delight, as the flavours and textures made them delicious. The second course of BBQ leeks and mussels were an amazing combination of flavour and texture. The third course of beet curds, molasses, and chia seeds was a delightful combination, and I say this as someone who doesn’t really like beetroot. It made the beetroot the sweetest I have ever tasted without overpowering its flavour. The fourth course of brown crab sauce with the seabass was delicious. The fifth course of pork belly with accompaniments was superb. For dessert we had “Milk and Honey”, a white chocolate mousse, Porthleven honey, caramelised milk powder, and soda bread ice cream, which was a wonderful blend of flavours and textures. The wine pairings were very well matched to the dishes. I also appreciated the nicely laundered large linen napkins that we had. The restaurant had a nice ambience, with interesting subtle music which we enjoyed. Our waitresses were very friendly and informative, carefully explaining the dishes and the wines to us upon arrival. The service was excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience, and after this first visit will go back again when next in Porthleven."
